I went ahead and POR 15'ed everything I could access at that point including all in behind the tail lights and even up the D-pillar.

Then I put her back together:

The roof didn't match up as I expected, but it should just take a couple longitudinal relief cuts:

These didn't match up either, of coarse, but a little tweaking of the inner panels got it:

That's like the most amazing thing I've ever seen! I wish I had half the talent it would take to do that! And you're updating like every 10 mintes, with what seems like giant progress! You're the man!

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*

Here's how it sits today. It still needs the roof done, third door finished, rear floor covered, complete all body welding (its all just tacked right now), and all that fun bodywork... But I've driven it and I'm very happy with the results. The rear needs to come back down and I think there may be some 20's in the near future

I'll say it again, just incredible!!!!! Do you plan on leaving the trim on? I hope so, I think that will help maintain the "factory" look. Keep them pictures coming!!!

Well, this one's been on hold for a while, but I had to get the Tahoe done because I'm going to start again on this -> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=179289

Thanks guys!

I do plan to keep all the trim and the roof rack. The roof rack will be shortened just like the photochop. The upper trim will be easy, but the lower will get tricky. Should be able to use lower rear pieces off a SWB truck, but the strips in front of the rear tires will have to be custom or modify mine.

absolutly bad ass. I can't belive how fast you ripped through that burb. The look is right on the money. Stock trim should complete the phantom vibe well. You got more done in a couple of days than most can accomplish is a couple of years. What's the secret? do you have a starbucks iv line or a never ending supply of red bull? All I know is to duplicate that type of quick progress all that caffeine would have my cut lines as squiggly as a river drawn on a map.

Keep it up!

Yeh

Also what are you using to make you sheetmetal cuts??? - they look very clean and straight - do you use a fence like a block of wood clamped to the long sections of metal like the roof and wheel well cut-outs?

Looks Awesome - not sure I would have the guts to do it to a Burb that clean though.

Thanks, 19 days to get it to this point. Obviously there's still a lot of work to do, but this is my driver (seriously).

It took three weeks of every spare moment. Though I did also have work, three kids for 1/2 the week, and got a piece of metal in my cornea during the process that killed a couple days Funny thing is I just completely quit all caffeine intake just before starting this project... Maybe that's the secret

Maybe, I have not ever had problems seeing picts before? Is it the blue one XXL posted a pict of? I'd love to see it, can someone copy and paste it into a post? I might be able to see it then!? I am feeling way left out!?
