Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
while i have been away from the shop, I took my time and rebuilt my door hinges courtesy of Classic Parts.
sand blasted the nasties off them, then straightened them out. prime and painted, then the install of the hinge kits. really easy to do and a hell of a lot cheaper than $50 a pop for 4 new hinges.

thanks again, I have been slowing down a bit with snow and work getting in the way. Back to it this weekend to hopefully get the cab finish welded and off the chassis. Brian

Thanks dude! I appreciate it... It is a lot of work either way you go, but I am glad i did it this way. It is going to save me a lot of trouble in the long run. I hopefully will have the cab buttoned up within the next week or two and get it off the frame. Then, starts the chassis renovation. Quote:
Thank You for your interest, Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
good question!!!
I am going to either; #1 = move the support under the hood forward 4 inches and mount the hinges on the new firewall. or #2 = go with a front tilt kit for the hood. or #3 = (if I can find a deal) go with the full tilt front nose. suggestions? thanks, Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
front tilt is what I thought would be the easiest
but a tilt fiberglass would show off the cool firewall work |

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
I know couple guys was wondering how I was going to button up the rear of the cab.
I am going to follow the new floor's pattern as seen in these 2 pics. Not done yet and this is next on the list, Trim to follow the lines then butt weld and seal. enjoy!

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
did some aligning of the drive train, had to move the tranny cross member forward 1.5 inches and re-drill the holes to bolt it in.
cleaned up all the old gas lines and factory plastic clips... tons of those. After I change out the rear end and replace a few braces to my liking it will be off to the media blaster!!!! alignment looks good from my house! thanks for looking, Brian

Re: J.M. Laflamme Build
The saga continues...
We decided that the stock rear end and leaf springs were going to go to the way side! We have been in search for a police cruiser that didn't think it needed its rear section anymore. FINALLY today I have received a 2000 police interceptor rear clip frame, rear end assembly intact and complete. So, starting tomorrow the rear clip is going to be married to the frame and so it begins. Turns out the rear end is a 3.55 locker with disc brakes etc etc. sorry for no pictures, but I will have some progress pics tomorrow... p.s. out with the 8 ft box idea, now I may as well shorten what is needed and keep the truck with its stock 6 ft box. wish me luck on this next endeavor! Brian
