ok, i checked everything with a string, and it's just a tad bit more than a 1/4 difference. I think those pictures were right after i converted to disc brakes and before the alignment...

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

Biggest issue with this truck......definitely should be in my driveway, and maybe equal size tires without the white lettering showing, I hate cleaning. Nice Truck, I personally like it without the white roof, there is a black and white shorty on here with the roof black to match the majority body color, I think it's a subtle custom touch and looks great. JMO though everyone's different

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

One alternative, if you can't find a good place to run strings from, is to drop a plumb line (a heavy nut tied to a string will do fine) to the ground from each of the four locations you choose and measure from marks on the ground. The drawback with this option is you lose one part of the "checks and balances" in the first method--any strings run diagonally on the ground will cross even if they wouldn't when run off the frame. Still, this is for the street. You will still be bale to determine if the diagonal lines are the same lengths.

Visually, the truck looked more than a half inch off. The remainder may be from the body being further forward on the right than on the left. That could come from body, cab & core support bushings; or just a bit of shifting in the holes for those bushings.

Frankly, it doesn't sound like a "STOP THE WORLD" catastrophe right now (unless you have odd tire wear patterns), just something to look forward to.

I'll give this a shot. My dad done almost all the suspension work, i'm thinking mabey he just didn't align everything up right...The tires look ok and no uneven wear...

The truck looks good as is!!!! If anything match the front tires to the back and call it a day.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

OK IMO, I don't care much for the wheels on it now. Too much of a 90's vibe goin there. The wheels on the trailer look good ,well, on the trailer. Drag Lites are WAY overplayed. My favorite looking "drag" wheel is the Centerline Telstar.

I think a 15x10/15x8 Telstar wheel combo with maybe 295/65/15 drag radials and 235/70/15 radials up front would look pretty killer. That's only if you wanted to stay with the "drag racer" look all the time. The thing I don't care for with the Telstars, is they really don't have a "classy" show vibe.

I personally don't like wheels bigger than 18's, and I don't feel as a 18/20 combo would do much for your truck. Alot here will disagree with me on that point. It's just personal preference. I do agree with SactoJim about a 17" or 18" wheel with a full, fat tire would make a nice contrast, then keep your current wheels/tires for the strip.

Personally, I just can't seem to stray far from the Torque Thrust wheels. They just have that timeless and classic look that always looks good, no matter what. The biggest with them is the belly button commonness to them. There's a reason why so many people run them though. They just look good.

I do agree with most that the lettered tires on the rear and black wall tires on front tend to look a tad odd. That may be the reason of discontent.

I don't want to tell you what to do, because in the end, it's still YOUR truck. You're the one that drives it and looks at it every day. I just hope you're able to take all advice given in thread to make your own decision, not someone else's.

Good luck and happy shopping.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

what do you guys think about a 15x8 and a 15x10 truck rally painted to match the kopper with a 315/60/r15 drag radial and a 235/70/15 up front. or the same size tires on the torq thrust II's? Or the rally wheels in just plain silver?

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

In general, I don't care much for rallies painted anything but silver. The truck Hubscrub is referring to is John Fabris' truck. It's probably the only truck I've ever liked with body colored rallies.

I think the Torque Thrust wheels would be AWESOME!!!

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

I think an 18/20 combo with tires to fill the wheelwells would look killer, maybe some torque thrusts but i'm biased as that is what i'm going with on my build. I'm also not a fan of the cowl hood.

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

IMO A set of TTO's in 15" would rock that truck! I have 15 x 7 and 15 x 8.5" on my 67. I was running 9" and 7" rallies with these same tires, I like the TTO's better personally, they draw lot's of comments from 'old guys' like myself....

Re: what do you guys think would make my truck look better?

I think i have my rims sold. So i'm thinking of going with the torq thrust. THe ones with the lighter gray center only comes in a 8.5" wide for the rears. The ones with the darker center i can get in a 10" wide. I have another set of m/t rims for the track... Would the darker gray torq thrust rims look pretty good?

i think you are on the right track, switching the wheels, and i prefer the stock hoods also, the biggest thing i think would be to lower it about 2 more inches , beautiful truck !!

I think the dark TT's would look killer - would really work well with your lower trim.

I have had several sets of the torque thrust D's, I think they would look great on your truck. Along with lowering it some more. I think the grey boss 338's would also look good on it. Good luck and post up pics.
