Re: 66 chevy project

Started working on the drivers door today while waiting for the primer to dry on the cap. There was more rust on the bottom of the door than I had hoped for but I have it cut out and ready to start welding it up.

Re: 66 chevy project

Wow!
I see a lot of work ahead of you in the near future, but what you are doing looks great!
We have all been there, maybe some more than others...But doesn't it make you feel good to spray primer on an area knowing that you are one baby step closer to the finish line? LOL!
Ya gotta start somewhere!!!!

Re: 66 chevy project

The outside of the door is near perfect so the bottom is worth fixing. The cab not the cap LOL only needs wet sanded with 400 and it is ready for paint inside and out.

Frame and cab look really good.
What type of paint did you use on your frame?

Re: 66 chevy project

It is a paint for tractor equipment. It is very good paint and sticks and covers well.

Trucks coming along nicely, looks good! I've always heard good things about the tractor/implement paint. Where did you get it from?

Re: 66 chevy project

Well things are going slow but did make some headway today. I have the passenger side with new top and bottom ball joints, new spring, new upper and lower control arm bushings, new brake line. I also have new shocks and all new brakes and wheel cylinders to be installed in a few days. Here is a couple of shots of the passenger side.
