Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
The right side of dash is not finished, the Vintage air unit used up alot of space. Roger will finish right side dash in the next few weeks. Stay Tuned

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
Which engine should I run?
327 Bored .030 comp cam / roller rockers or a LS-2 carburated with GM front dist. drive. ASA hot cam ???? undecided ???? Also will be running a T-56 from a 97 Trans Am with 3.73 rear gears ? Both engines will look very Old Skool . What you guys like the trick battery boxes ? Last edited by kart34; 11-25-2010 at 01:42 PM. |

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
Will you be doing away with the stock glove box on the far right? And do you think if you do you will be using the grab bar from the Impala also? I see you filled in the control area for the hvac from the Impala dash. What are you thinking for that? What are the seats from?

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
Dirty Doug, The stock glove box door will be gone, we are having issues with the AC unit and we need some type on access door for the AC unit. It was a very tight fit. Roger did not expect that with the Vintage Air Gen.II unit.

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
The grab bar like on the 62 SS would be really cool ! Just a thought , didn't know if you were thinking about using one or not . What colors will the dash and metal be inside ?

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
327 ! Use the LS in the wagon. Also when I did the math/calculations on my ElCamino with the T56 and a 27.5 ish tire , I will be able to use a 4:56 gear and only run 2100 RPM at around 75mph , if I remember right. I did the calculation off of a web site 3 years ago. They make a S10 rear with a 4:10 gear. That 6th gear is like a double over drive. But the 327 would be a cooler piece in that shop truck!

Re: Extreme Powder Coating '65 C-10 Shop Truck
This is a real nice start, kart34. I am along for the ride. I would go with the 327 for this build and send me the LS.
