Re: Wild C10 project
I think this the newest/most revolutionary approach to cab rust repair
I like this build so much better than the other way where someone tries to make a 67 look like a 01. At the first post I said "wow, that's a great idea" instead of "why". Keep up the progress and progress reports! |

Re: Wild C10 project
I really appreciate everyone's appreciation for what we are doing. There will be very many more pics coming. We want it to be a step by step process with the pictures and for them to show how everything was accomplished. There's a ton of fabrication left, not to mention the all new awesome suspension that's bout to go on. BR will be on it pretty much full time now until SEMA, so she ought to be coming together soon. Thanks for everyone taking the time to look..

Re: Wild C10 project
Are you planning on retaining the curvature of the 67 at the top of the windshield or going to the new shape, just curious. This is really a cool build.

Re: Wild C10 project
The 01' roof will be chopped bout 1.5", raked back slightly, back glass dropped 1.5" and the 3rd brake light will be removed and smothed out. That's bout it for the roof...

Re: Wild C10 project
Think we have came up w a name for our project..."After Dark" and finally made some solid decisions on paint and interior. Thinking a deep mirror black exterior, flat black w gloss black accented interior, black leather w perforated inserts. Don't want an over the top cheesy painted interior, going for that clean, stock but hot rod theme. Please give some thoughts...

Re: Wild C10 project
I like the name. Curious about the dash - I know you plan to keep a stock look, but do you plan to leave it alone, or make a custom dash with 01 styling but with some subtle nods to its ancestor, like a glove box shaped like the gauge cluster, or some new take on a dash pad, or any other idea?
Whatever you do, DON'T PUT THE FUEL TANK IN THE CAB!!! lol totally kidding, I know you wouldn't do that |

Re: Wild C10 project
This is killing me I cant wait to see the finished project or at least the cab back on and doors open. I must admit I was pretty apprehensive about this when I first read but your builder is doing 1 world of a job. You are using a 67 bed aren't you?

Re: Wild C10 project
We will initially be using the bed floor and platform of the 01', but you will never tell w the bed sides and tailgate looking like a 67'. Also going to be going w a "show bed" done out in dark stained wood w black strips. Trust us, I'm so excited and can't wait myself, and yes my builder is pretty awesome. Hope to open up shop...

Re: Wild C10 project
Can't wait myself, very excited bout it, and to hear such positive things pushes us even faster. I agree, BR is awesome, wouldn't want anyone else in his place. Great ideas and great craftsmanship. I'm proud and can't wait to see it come together. And the bed will be an 01' platform but completely skinned in 67' sheet metal. "Showbed" stained black a gloss black strips...
