Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
Here is an old 69 lwb stepside 4x4 I have had for a few years. I think they made 521 of them.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
. . . .
If you talk about RARE being low mileage - how about the 70 that was for sale last year with 80 miles on it ? . . . . |

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
Been reading the site for awhile but wanted to share the info on two trucks I own.
1st is a 67 GMC C-10 292 long bed with factory overdrive option. I am not sure how often this was selected but I have never seen this before. 2nd is a 68 Chevrolet C-20 CST 396 buddy seats and tachometer option. |

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
Here's my rare find. It's a 1971 Chevy Short Wide with just over 2000 actual miles. It has the build sheet, purchase order, protecto plate and one-family owned. I don't know how rare the truck is, but the miles on it should make it a rare find! I'd like to see some other low-mileage trucks, if anyone would post what they have.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
This is what we believe to be one of one because of the options and special paint (Chevelle Black Cherry). I have talked to the man who special ordered it.
On deck for restoration.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
There is a 4x4 panel on Ebay now. Very rough, but might be interesting to someone.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
It was a one-family truck when we bought it. The only things not original on the truck are the tires and battery.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
This is the Rarest of them all. Official Indianapolis 500 truck from 1969. OK, it was photo-shopped but there are photos of White "Official" 1969 SWB trucks at the Indy 500 in 1969.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
A lot of good points in this thread. My personal unicorn is a '67 K20 panel. Chevy production numbers show 8 and that dosen't break out KS from KE. GMC numbers are likely even less. The important thing to remember is that valuable items are usually rare but rare dosen't always mean valuable. As an example lets look at two Cheyenne Supers. First a loaded C10 red/red bb swb fleetside. Second a C10 grapefruit/parchment six 3 speed lwb stepside with no power options. Which is rare? Both, based on total Cheyenne Super production. Which is valuable, the first. The second truck even though very rare would generally be parted or modified.

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
I don't know how rare it is, but it took me 12 years of searching to find my original '68 CST SWB 396. I wanted one loaded up with ps, pb, a/c, and buddy buckets. I'll get around to restoring her in the near future.

I have a 67 GMC Camper Cruiser model. It may not be too rare but I certainly have not seen too many around. Could be a good or bad thing I guess!

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
An interesting little tidbit I learned when I was checking out my truck; GM did not keep track of anything that was 1% or less of a particular production run. Based on this info, if your VIN doesn't match any of the lists, you may have a rare one!

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
I have a '67 gmc 3/4 2wdr "camper cruiser". Only one i've seen in front of me after 35 years of playing with these trucks. The US version came with a fender emblem that looks like something off a lincoln. My original mirrors and rear bumper stick way out there and it handles a big heavy camper like a champ. Originally with a 327

Re: Rarest 67-72 Trucks
Hey Bellemare 486,
I have the same truck sitting in my garage right now! 3/4 ton, 305 v-6 4 speed! Does yours have extra fuel tanks in front of the rear wheels..1 on each side? Just wondering because mine does and I thought I had heard this was an option. I love the fender emblems and you cant find those things anywhere!! I do not think anyone repops them. |
