Thanks, at first I wondered about that but I quickly realized that it's a plastic box of some kind. If I jamb my foot up there it stops LOL. I did that steering shaft upgrade on my wife's Tahoe and it was like a new truck!

Got the jump seat mounted. Cheap and easy mod, it bolted right in. The color is different but I suppose I could get Katzkin leather to match. BTW, what the heck is going on with the site's image hosting??? I can't upload anything larger than a nat's ass and it won't accept Imagur links...

Re: Project "Rebound" 2006 RCSB

Truck has been fighting me lately. I thought the water pump had been squeaking, plus there is a 3" drip of coolant in the driveway every morning, then it nearly overheated so I replaced the pump (who wouldn't?), gaskets, coolant and a/c belt while I was in there. I have replaced lots of these around the same mileage, they just go bad. Then the squeak came back, which I think now is probably the a/c tensioner as it has gotten rediculous. Or it could be the compressor clutch. So I probably replaced the pump for no reason, and I could still have a bad compressor.

But the winner is the horrible knock/tick I got after a road trip. Sounded like a stuck lifter, but could be something worse. I shut the truck down, checked the oil and it was low. Added 1qt, knock went away. Checked the oil again the next morning and it was still low, so now I'm 2 quarts added. No leaks, or evidence of oil in the coolant (just drained it remember) and the oil was changed 2000 miles ago. Oil consumption issue? Stuck lifter? Low end knock!!!?

Yet somehow the last tank of gas netted 19 mpg after an average over 2500 miles of 15mpg.

Did you find the source of the "tick"?

Re: Project "Rebound" 2006 RCSB

No but seeing that it went away after adding oil, betting a lifter. My wife's 2009 suburban developed a lifter tick on a road trip, wasn't even due for an oil change. We stopped and changed the oil, went away. Same suburban had a lifter fail and wipe out the cam (warranty)

.
It looks like there is a leak in the water pump so I guess a change is in the near future.
Is there a pump that is beter than the stock one or just a oem pump?

What size tires are on your true blue. I read the thread but didn't see the size any where. That is a nice looking truck.

The cardone pump I bought was supposed to be reman. However, it didn't have the recess for the factory steel/o-ring gaskets on the block, and the t-stat housing surface leaked immediately. I asked my neighbor who is a factory rep in the parts business, and he said most of the water pumps are made in the same factory in China and re-branded, even AC Delco. The lines he reps to O'Reilly are supposed to be better quality, but that does not include the one I bought.

I have a new business, and it requires me to get a 2010+ Dodge Durango, plus now I have a little cash infusion to get over the hump on my '50 "Popeye" project.

Thanks, this one didn't really make me sad so I'd say that's a win.
