So very sorry for your loss. This is a fear that we all have. I'm sure that we all have some spare parts laying around from our builds if or when the need arises. You are in our prayers.
Also, I can't agree more with Byrd. I'm an electrical contractor and I can't tell you how many receptacles and switches that I replaced because they were burned up from improper wiring or loose connections. Please be careful when you replace any device in your house or garage. The wires should be bent in a semi-circle before you put them under the screw and pointed towards theright. This way when you tighten the screw it wraps tighter under the head. Also, don't run out to the local home center and buy the cheapest box of recepts that you see, the will only fail and you will need to do it again. Your best bet is to go to an electrical supply house and buy a good quality device. They can be bought usually for under $2.00 each for a 15amp receptacle. You wouldn't go cheap on your truck that you use when your awake, so any extra cost for a quality device that is still working when you are sleeping is an easy decision for me. If you come across aluminum wiring in your recept/ switch boxes you should call an electrician, this stuff is nasty and it burns down too many houses when it is not done right. There are special devices that you need to use and wiring methods that need to be followed when you mess with this stuff. The electrician has insurance and should be bonded in case anything bad ever did happen. White wire on the silver screw and the black wire on the copper/brass colored screw. If you feel that there is a problem with an electrical circuit, you can also just flip the breaker off or remove the fuse until the repairs are made or the problem is solved. Please also turn the breaker off before you do any work on your electrical system, A short creates an arc, and an arc is an ignition source, and even spiderwebs and clothes dryer lint are very flammable!

As a truck lover i feel for that too. But you can always get another truck. Lives are whats important.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. My garage burned down about 10 years ago. I'm still getting tools and such replaced.

One of my Friends is a fireman. He told me to go out right way to Sears, hardware store ect ect and start making a list of what was in the garage. Also carefully take picures of the damage and there is more damage that you can see. For example my A/C unit on my house got fried but it was 5 months later before I turned it on. It was a hassle and I never got paid.
thankfully no human lives were lost.
