Re: Arkansas K10

I dropped the steering box off with Marty and crew at PowerSteering.com today. The shop is meticulously clean and organized. I have been dealing with them for over thirty years, but this is the first time I visited the shop.

We have some members in Nixa and the area near PS.com.

Re: Arkansas K10

WE now have a rolling chassis with brake and fuel lines hooked up. I found stencils at Hobby Lobby for the numbers on the transmission and drive shaft, but I can't find them, so it may be back to HL, so I can get them ready to go in.

Re: Arkansas K10

I used PS.com to rebuild the oem pump on my Blazer and was really pleased. Great way to go!

Looks like you are on track for summer driving Larry.

I have never worked on a Fremont truck before so, to me, the markings are interesting on this truck. The frame had tons of inspection marks, but the cowl and front of the bed had none.

Re: Arkansas K10

I snuck off from the house remodel this afternoon and got the power steering box installed and found another inspection mark on the pitman arm. Blue paint across the center.

I didn't get much done this weekend. I hoped to get the exhaust run completely.

Re: Arkansas K10

I don't know about summer driving Pete. My wife has a major remodel planned for her house (She lets me sleep here, lol) and she reminded me tonight when I got home I was going to have to get somebody started on it. I think I have it all farmed out but It will still eat into my truck build time. I'm trying to find somebody to paint the truck to speed things up.

The original Teflon was still in place so I re-used it.

Re: Arkansas K10

I got back on the K10. I got the fenders sanded today. No rust at all under the battery.

Re: Arkansas K10

We got the kids pool finished, the wife's garden is producing, the 55 is in paint jail, so I finally got back on the K10 this week. I painted two different air cleaners, multiple times and still don't have one I am satisfied with. I'll be out next week, so it will probably still look like this 10 days from now.

I use primer, then seal it with semi gloss clear.

Nice work! Always admired those that had the tenacity to go the 100% totally stock restoration path.
