Love the sink base, can you lower the gate? Hows the cab coming along?

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Been busy over my winter break. I was able to finish up my body work including some bondo and mostly priming and sanding. I cut in the truck and mounted the cab. Dropped the truck off at the painters, cant wait to get it back!

mounting the cab to the frame. My Pop and I used a 4x4, sheet of plywood, some chains and creativity to accomplish this task.

Some pictures my mother took of me while I was painting the backside of the firewall and the floor. Love to see the cab mounted to the frame. Starting to look like a truck again!

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Haven't been very active on this forum much, but there has been a lot done to the truck! The truck has been sent off to paint and is currently in the process of being painted. I used killmat to sound proof the inside of the truck. I installed the BDW gas pedal, clutch, brake, and the emergency brake as well as wrapped up the exhaust!

Some more photos of the truck panels in the shop. Going with some Altmen easy latches, should allow the doors to shut with ease!

The Cab getting a little color! I love the deep, vibrant, and intense color of the hugger orange. I wait by my phone all day for the paint shop to send me updated photos.

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Got a call from my body man the other week. He informed me that unfortunately when I had bought replacement fenders I had bought the wrong year. I had gotten 68 fenders which are not compatible with 69-72 year models. Luckily he was looking for a pair of 68 fenders for a future project of his and bought them off me for the price I paid. Sooo… I had to order a new set of fenders.
Got some pictures recently of the truck with the fenders and hood on, crazy I hadn’t seen those pieces together since 2018!! |

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Stopped by the paint shop this weekend. Was great to see the truck in person. Roy and the guys at BnG paint and body in Temple Tx have been doing an amazing job. Was so nice to be able to open and close the hood, Havnt done that since early 2018! The easy latch doors are such a nice upgrade, no more slamming doors.

Re: College restoration. My 71 c10
Started getting some photos of the truck being painted this past week. Truck is really starting to come together, the guys at B&G paint and body have come together and have just been knocking this paint job out of the park. Started talking to a tuner in the area about accepting the truck after its completed with paint and body to wire the engine and get the truck running and tuned. Seems like a completion date is closer that I might think!
Here are some pics from the body shop: |
