Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

Thanks guys, will your PG linkage not rotate up anymore. If it won't you may have to drop the pan and pull it out and reposition it. I think the kickdown linkage won't be long enough where its at , but I am not a powerslide expert.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

thks for the responds, it was rebuilt by a friend of a friend, when I sent it out it wasn't in that spot so when I got it back I didn't think twice bout it, and it sat for a few months til I installed it last month. the rod is long enough but when the rod is attached, the automatic gear lever part will hit the rod and wont fully engage into park, I was thinking I needed to go into the trans, I got a PG rebuild video online. ps wish me luck im not afraid, just don't wanna spend good cash after such a crazy long build having someone fix my messup. thks again...

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

With my neighbor's help we flipped the cab back upright. I spent a few more hours on a grinder, hung a door to make sure everything would fit for final rocker panel welding. I just have to POR15 all the inner rocker stuff and weld them up.

Now onto the next hack job, I wonder if people realize how many hours it will take to fix stuff like this in the future.

If you're referring to those who hacked, I'm sure they could care less! Glad mine wasn't hacked much, but I do have at least one questionable "modification."

Paint won't fly until the speaker holes are fixed, then block out back panel and prime.

WOW. Great job. Any chance of a picture of the rear power steering pump bracket that goes from the rear of the pump to the motor mount?

Thanks for the bracket pic!! So is that bolt a special bolt with a stud coming out of the end of it? Is the lower bolt the same way?

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

Worked on trying to pull a dent from the back of my cab but it wouldn't come out. I tried and finally cut it out and welded in a new piece. It took me awhile to heat and cool and shrink an stretch the area to get it straight as I could not get behind it to dolly it but finally got it fairly close.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

Still doing bodywork, as I will be for a few months. Skim coated the back after using my stud gun to pull some small dents and it actually is very flat when I put a 6' level across it. It looked like the ocean before, I guess the bed of this truck was well used.

Re: LT1 Burbs 65 Stock SW Build

Well, after spending 8 hours trying to fix my roof and stop the oil canning I said screw it. Time for a re-skin, I think it might be easier.

Looking good. Be careful welding the roof back because you can't get behind it to work with a dolly and hammer.
