Re: Beater Calender

its nearly impossible to find cars that old in such a condition in the netherlands sure it looks rusted but its all fixable from the looks of it .
a lot of the ones before the 40's got scrapped for iron in worldwar 2 and wat was left after the 50's is now reduced to a small pile of rust ......kindah sad actually its too humid here in the netherlands for cars to stay pristene longer than 20 years , when there are older cars driving here there usually imported from the states or more inland europe like swiss or germany

Re: Beater Calender

Yeah, that is one reason she sits. Because I have no where better for it and it has lasted 37 years right there. My gramps parked it there the day he got the 68 and never touched it again.

Re: Beater Calender

Oh Boy, is this right up my alley or what! But which of my beaters to choose?! My DD I guess (and my loyal companion of avitar fame). Pics taken today during an intake manifold change...otherwise I would have chosen a better backdrop. In true beater style, the throttle linkage was created with office equipment and works great. ET

Re: Beater Calender

Man I love these period bed/camper tops, shame I can't find one over this side of the atlantic, it'd certainly stop my bewd wood getting wet! My old series IIa landrover had a throttle cable lashed up from bits of pushbike brake cables and my current daily driver has a hood release made from another one after the original snapped and they wanted a ridiculous amount for a new one.

I've found a few 1930's cars in my travels around France that would be usable including one I've got my eye on as a potentail rat rod. Our laws here in the UK mean that most of your beaters would never be road legal here.

Re: Beater Calender

My beater, other than rust holes in everything it drives really nice. Oh and the PO used a lil galvanized steel to patch up the floor and roof. ITs all comin out now.
