Re: DBW Cruise Issue
I've delayed in reporting what happened after wiring power to pin 33. I wish i could say all went well, but it didn't.
I gave pin 33 12v power I interrupted the power with a switch i could control by hand and did so several times while driving up to 70mph with some stop and go. Cruise wouldn't set. I appreciate and I'm open to suggestions for further testing. |

Re: DBW Cruise Issue
Well, that sounds like it should have worked. Just to be sure, you do have pin 33 hooked up on the blue connector, right? The reason I ask is that pin 33 on the green connector should be empty too so may be easy to pick the wrong one. Other than that, try moving that wire to pin 35. That is the clutch position wire, and might need to be used if the automatic stuff has been tuned out of the PCM. That's just a stab in the dark though as I would think 33 should work either way.

Re: DBW Cruise Issue
I just tried switching that power wire from pin 33 blue to 35, but it didnt fix it. I took a nice long drive with lots of open rode to try it. I don't know what else to try, it's looking like something in that pcm isn't switched on. I will contact the tuner to see what they suggest. I'm not sure what negatve effects the vss reading at half speed has on anything, but if they get the pcm back they can correct it and hopefully the cruise malfunction.
I really appreciate all your help. I had high hopes this last attempt. I've had it good with road conditions. Testing will slow way down if we get snow. I will post developments. |

Re: DBW Cruise Issue
I quit updating when the snow shut me down, but I had made several attempts for a fix that didnt work. It was making me nervous to spin the rear wheels in the garage up on blocks at cruise speeds.I will list what was tried.
reflashed new pcm. reflashed again with original pcm when vss was still at half speed. swapped out throttle body and dbw pedal. I think this was everything. The tuner revealed to me that the tune architecture is for an auto trans vortec truck 5.3 with fuel maps for an LS6 Vette. I believe the 12v wire going to pin 33 blue sounded like the fix that should have worked. |

Re: DBW Cruise Issue
Yes i was thinking running in gear up on blocks would simulate driving conditions? I spun those tires fast. I haven't had it out on the road this spring. How would it know the difference? What ever, this gives me some hope. Changing the vss will require me to recalibrate my electric speedo. More testing!!!!!
