Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: What happens when you want to bag a 1946

Thanks guys!
Well, after putting 150 miles on it in the last week I have one complaint, Im gonna have to convert the 50 Burb because this thing rides great! Handles well, rides smooth and is just a better rig to drive. Im sure the knee action shocks werent helping things before. Its great talking to folks about it and then as they turn around and walk off I air it out, they hear the hissing and then a whole other conversation comes on. Its fun times.
The Airlift V2 system works good. The only complaint I have is that when you hit the preset for lowest driveable height, the system will air out completely to calibrate that pressure setting and the way I have the bag plates set up the tires will rub the outer fenders when aired out. So no preset moves while driving. Can manually air down on the run and its okay. Works great as a parking brake when aired out lol! Other than that, the system functions really well.

Trac bar or panhard bar. Making the longest one I could was well worth it and spending the coin on the flex
or johnny joints was priceless. They are super quiet and when cycling the suspension, the axle barely moves side to side.

Firestone 2600 bags and KYB gas adjust shocks ride really nice and using an airline cutting tool vs a razor blade like I have done before has produced zero small overnight air leaks. I ran 3 days inflated at ride height and never heard the compressor kick on until I finally aired it out to show a friend. Overall I have learned a ton about suspension geometry and air systems with this build. I think I posted in my 65 truck build that if I built another it would be static. After the 46 and how well it performs, I have to reconsider and say that my next one will be on air too.

Re: What happens when you want to bag a 1946

I put another 5 hr trip on it Saturday for a major shake down run and all welds, joints, lines etc are great! Now find the time in December to do the front. A little more tricky as the entire doghouse gets removed , engine pulled and IFS welded in. Trying to get it all lined up in my head and have a few friends over to get it assembled as a roller in a weekend. Need to push it out of the shop come Monday

Re: What happens when you want to bag a 1946

Just wanted to post an update on the rear drop after putting several tanks of fuel through it. The rear geometry and 2 link with the long trac bar works flawlessly. The Air Lift V2 auto rise and 8 preset system works flawlessly and holds pressure with ZERO leaks. I was very hesitant to bag another rig, but wanted to slam something and try electronic. I just need to quit buying projects and find the time to IFS and bag the front!

You bought another project? Cool...

Appreciate the update on system performance and glad it is working well.

Is this the system you used?

So how does it (Learn your vehicle).

When you put a load on one corner does it let air out since that would increase pressure.

3 wires to retro fit auto air up when up start up the truck 8 presets all sounds nice.

Re: What happens when you want to bag a 1946

It takes about 10 minutes with it running to "learn the vehicle". When researching reviews, most negative ones were resolved when they installed a good battery and had the vehicle running vs ignition on only. Im not sure what it is learing but it does cycle the bags several times at diffefent heights and random pressures. So has a " succesfull " message at times when switching. It does not self adjust arou d corners but does when people get in and out. Its been a surprisingly neat upgrade.

So to elaborate when you get a load of people in when at ride height does it add psi to keep the set level. If so I did not know a psi system could do this.

I put accuair on my friends 77c10 so in start up of the system it did the same kind of deal where it ran through the up down movements ect then set its self at 10% and we adjusted from there.

It's about 700$ less bucks to get this system over the other and less work with only having 3 wires to hook it up so it seams interesting to me.

Re: What happens when you want to bag a 1946

It's mostly during the initial start up and 6 people getting in at the same time. After it configures itself and you drive around, it will maintain that pressure. When it's just me getting in and starting it up, the system seems to "remember" just me where as multiple people getting in during the ignition on cycle it will make several more calibrations or adjustments.
