Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
Thanks mudddigger! Hard compound is just fine with me and I don't plan on taking this truck mudding so im not too worried about that but it will see plenty of rock, do you have the 36s or 37s?

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
Just read your entire thread. Grate diff covers. I was thinking about running the military 37's too, that sucks they don't work well in mud. Keep up the good work, its looking good.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
By the way, have you hooked up your E-brake cable yet? I'm curious as now the cables coming from the rear wheels aren't long enough to reach up to the frame brackets after I installed the 4" lift on mine.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
No ive been a slacker for a while since ive been working a lot lately but I'm about to get back on it again.
Yes that's the blazer in my avatar. I'll get some more pictures up of the blazer later today. No i still haven't hooked up the rear cables yet, that was one of the next things on my list of things to do. I did remove the rear brackets so that I could turn them around and switch sides of the frame their on witch would put them about 3 1/2" farther back. Then I was going to order some 1"+ thick aluminum plate to sandwich between the brackets and the frame, and I figured that would be enough for them to reach . I was also going to use that same plate between the trans cross member and the frame instead of those 1" spacers that come on the stock cross member bolts.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
OK guys I know yall are thinking that im a huge procrastinator and well...... your probably right! Here are some pictures of the blazer attached below. I still have a lot of things to do to it but I kinda stopped messing with it once I got it on the road (except for fixing minor problems), but.... I will eventually get around to finishing it.
As for the GMC I need make a trip to the junkyard for some A/C parts as I want to convert the firewall over to A/C before I paint it. So that should be the next thing I do to it (soon too if all goes well).

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
It has dents and scrapes and all sorts of little problems but like I tell everyone else "Its a mud truck" so it does just fine for what it is.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
Yeah the bumper is pretty cool, i'll probably end up building something like it for the GMC.
Also, see that little hole in the floor? That was where the shifter for the PTO winch came through but it wouldn't fit with the BB headers, and I didn't want to modify the headers so the winch came off. Now I have a winch for the GMC and I will make it fit with the headers one way or another in the GMC. I always wanted one for it anyway.

I had go down to the creek and give my stepdad a jump on the backhoe so I made a little video with my phone. Sorry about how crappy it is, I need a Iphone!

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
Thanks! Really I didn't do much to it and it still "looks" pretty much the same as when I bought it, I just did everything to it so it would be streetable.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
Thanks Mando! I know I know, Im gonna work on it asap when I have free time (in the daylight). I think If I had sun shine 24/7 I would get done a lot faster or I guess a big A/C shop with lights would be nice too.

Re: Project: Rust, White & Blue
I hear you, man. I've been working on mine in 100 degree weather on the uncovered driveway. Not fun, but I'm willing to torture myself to get this thing running. I get tired of seeing it on the same spot week after week.
