Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
Unfortunately it looks so good, few people will know how much time you put in on this. How about some interior photo s when you get time...firewall looks great..BTW... Is the truck going to be black.?

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
Yep,,, it looks red!! You know,, your not supposed to be in paint already?? Your supposed to take 6 years, go through 3 jobs, divorce the wife, sell your house for a loss, lose your place to work on your truck, find a new place to work on your truck, scrap all the body panels you've been working on, buy all new body panels, and a new compressor, move 40 miles away from where your working on your truck,,, and THEN you should be ready for paint!..

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
Looking awesome. Question for you, since it looks like the bed is being painted in pieces are you planning on using any type of seam sealer between the panels when re-assembling? Just trying to get a plan for myself. Thanks

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
the panels will be painted on all sides of the seams but i will still use a small amount of seam sealer when reassembly. Every panel was assembled before to fit the panels then taken back apart for paint.

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
I have been working on my Dash panel and my console. I need some opinions on what you guys think. I'm not too sure about it myself. They will both get sealed and painted.

Looking good to me,, like I said before,, when your boldly going where no one has gone before,, is there really a wrong way, or bad idea. If it doesn't work for you,, just go back to the drawing board.

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
The center console looks good. I combined a 72 C10 body with a 2002 Dodge diesel chassis & used the Dodge instrument panel too. I used a extra glove box door (which is the same size as the original gauge bezel) to mount my gauges & had the outer rim chromed & you could paint the rest black. Just a thought. You're making nice progress!

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
Awesome, work on all of this, your painter is doing a fine job too. Don't know what your plans are for finishing the console. I think the console would feel better if it was covered in vinyl.....It looks fantastic BTW, I used a hard plastic 1 out of a 90's truck and I am looking for some way to add a pad or cushion. Glove box door works OK but like the rest of your build it's not easy either, I am still trying to get my speedo and gas gauge to work. These gauges are out of 93 Caprice.

Re: 1972 Chevy Pickup Project.
Well my painter is a complete idiot. I had to fire him and hire a "real" painter.
