Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Made some progress over the weekend. Got my front cab mounts done and the tubing connecting the front and rear of the cab. Enough to remove the temporary frame work and mock up my bench. The headers will have to be modified a bit, but are a good start. Nice day here in SW Missouri so I rolled the truck out for some sun and a chance to clean the shop out.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
I was inspired about a week ago looking at everyones progress.. esp yours. I purchased a shed for the back yard 10x12 to put all of the stuff in it and get my garage back so that I can work on my truck again.
Nice work..... can't wait for more pics. |

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
I originally wanted to keep the truck rough and mostly stock. Then, I started taking it apart and saying I'll do this and this. Before you know it.... I think all my projects end up like this. I just can't leave it well enough alone!!

Your project is really looking good. I like the look of the Titan wheels. What size tire did you use?
Can't wait to see more progress.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Isn't it sweet to roll your project out into the sunshine once in a while? Also gives you the opportunity to actually stand back and check it out... can't do that in the shop! Looking good man I like where this is heading!

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Got them off e-bay for $340 for the set w/o shipping. (shipping was around $100) Guy was switching to chrome versions and was selling the stockers.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Got some buddies over yesterday and moved the bed into the garage. Took all the wood and fenderwells out. Sat it down and Also mocked up the steering column and bench height. Next is bench mounts and bed work.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Well I z'd the front 4" and the back 10". The back still has all of its bed mounts in the correct relation, just 10" too high. I will be moving the floor up 10" and redo the edge around the bed to bolt back onto the stock cross members. On the front I will have to make a new core support bracket off the frame to line back up in the new position.

Re: 1964 Chevy c-10 build "Carla Marie"
Got the front clip off the c60 and set it in place on my c10. Plan to graft the front of the c60 fenders to the rear of my c10's. The flares are a bit much, but I really like how tall the grill surround is. Haven't seen a 2 ton front end this low to the ground! Don't know if there will be much room for a bumper though..

that looks very cool!!
you don't need a bumper, just smooth the bottom and call it good
