Goodguys 2015 Giveaway C10 by Scott's Hotrods

Scott's Hotrods is pleased to announce the official build thread for the Goodguys 2015 giveaway C-10.

We have had a great relationship with Goodguys over the last 15 years. We have had the opportunity to build a handfull of giveaway cars in the past, but unfortunately the timing was never quite right to do one for Goodguys. I'm very excited that we are doing this one. Great truck, and great timing.

We are determined to make this the best C-10 we've built to date.

Goodguys has already done a lot of the hard work in determining the look, having the rendering done, and aquiring a lot of the hard parts. Our job will be to execute the plan and rebuild this truck form top to bottom. There is not a piece or panel on this truck that will go untouched.

Here's the synopsis of the build:

Wilwood 14 inch slotted rotors
Wilwood W6A Caliper

Scott's LSX motor mounts
Scott's transmission mount

Wilwood 14 inch slotted rotors
Wilwood W4A caliper

Scott's fuel tank with efi pump

Wheels
Billet specialties
Rear 20x12
Front 20x10

Motor
Built L-s 3 motor
TCI automotive transmission

Headers and Exhaust
Custom S.S headers made by Scott's
S.S mandrel bent exhaust by Scott's

Ride height on truck will be 4 1/2 from ground
Overall height on C-10 will be 56 1/2 to the ground

Body mods
Several custom modifications to many to list
There will be a ton of build pics for you all to see

Paint
Palmer's customs to lay down one of his stellar jobs

Interior
Ron Mangus to do one of his one off interiors

Our goal hear is to build a truck that you all will remember for years down the road

Completion of this build will be early Spring 2014

Here's a few pics to start.

We started on the tear down and quickly realized that this cab was in fairly poor shape. Lots of hidden rust that needed to be addressed before we could get started. Rather than have it dipped (we've had bad luck with that) we sent it out to be media blasted. Our shop lead Brycen has taken the reigns on this project.
