Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Got a 9” tuff stuff booster and got it flush mounted... for the most part. Going to have to modify the steering column bracket a little bit. Also knocked out the studs from the brake pedal bracket so I could mount to this booster. Going to get a rhd s10 master. Hopefully that will be enough for the Brembos. Read about this combo over on the pro-touring forums.

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Worked on the coldside piping last night. I think I have it pretty much figured out and found a 4” piece for the intake that I think will work out perfect. Also got a dual pack of viair 485c gen 2 compressors. Just need to make the brackets to hold them and the tanks.

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Was going back and forth on the shock location and ultimately decided on keeping them in the stock location mainly so that I can run the exhaust out the back. Still have to finish the mounts but here is the rough idea.

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Got the shock brackets tacked on and the cab pulled off and started working on the exhaust. Splitting the 4” downpipe to a dual 3”

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Made some more progress on the exhaust. Need to get a driveshaft to make sure I’ll have enough clearance between it and the exhaust. After calling the local driveshaft place and getting a quote on a 2 piece I’m leaning towards 1 piece. I took out the carrier bearing mount and mocked up what a 3.5” driveshaft would be and it looks like it’ll work with a little clearancing on the crossmember.

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Got the passenger side exhaust tacked up back to the axle. Now to get it under the driveshaft without hanging down low.

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
After getting back from SEMA the first thing I did was set the cab back on the frame. And of course it hit the exhaust. Thought I had that planned out. Anyways I redid that added another clamp right before it goes over the axle.
Also started working on the trailing arm crossmember to add clearance for a 3.5 driveshaft |

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
While out at SEMA I purchased a QuickJack directly thru them for a heck of a price. It finally came in and got it out together. Definitely looking forward to using this.

Re: 72 Swb starting from the bottom
Haven’t made much progress. Welded up the rear shock mounts and cross bars. And started working on exhaust hangers. Also found a much tighter bend aluminum pipe so going to be redoing my intercooler piping again

Driveshaft hoop for the trailing arm crossmember is tacked in. All kinds of room now.
