The new truck is a pretty clean 1985 M1009 Blazer that just kind of came along. You have to have a back up squarebody for when one is down right? Right. I'll have to get a build thread going for that. |

Re: Big Blue
For sure a backup squarebody, haha! In my world, I call them parts trucks. And then when I get them home, I decide to build them instead. I'll look forward to the build thread.

Re: Big Blue
Nice progress so far!
What have you been using for paint and primer? Has it been holding up? |

Re: Big Blue
I have been using Rustoleum Professional primer and paint using a brush to apply it. Seems to be way more economical than spray cans with less mess and easier to do thick coats. Its been holding up very well! I have scrapped the black paint off during the axle install but it only ever goes down to the primer. Easy to touch up.

Re: Big Blue
Final panels and cab light install.
My friend had a dump truck that I was able to use as a template to make the cab light holes using some thicker paper. I used the drip rails as a guide to locate things. |

Re: Big Blue
Gotta have AC. Im retrofitting an ac system I scavenged from a spare parts cab I bought a while back. Welding up the non ac holes and making new holes for the ac ducting.

Re: Big Blue
A lot of good work and progress! It's coming together very nicely. You're even putting in creature comforts: sound deadening, air conditioning. Capable AND comfortable.

Re: Big Blue
I got the roof prepped and painted along with the rockers/floor/cab corners. I used spray cans of touch up paint from https://www.automotivetouchup.com
