Re: Always a project truck...............my driveway build
Great work here! Hey, there's a cat on here with a big chub for the sixer's with a detailed thread on them. Here it is, he's got a 250/Weber combo, could be a good resource. Keep it up!

Re: Always a project truck...............my driveway build
Pretty impressive how clean you got everything using mostly just wire wheels, i thought you used some type of media blaster.

Re: Always a project truck...............my driveway build
most of the parts are media blasted; whatever fits in the blast cabinet on base is blasted for sure. The engine block, firewall, and cross-member are all done with fiber wheels and wire wheels. Frame is next; going to do it the same way, but will have to do it in stages so not entirely sure how that will turn out (fingers crossed)

Re: Always a project truck...............my driveway build
got some goodies today! woot woot!
So I wanted to add power steering and air conditioning. Can't afford the A/C conversion right now so I'll only be adding power steering to the little inliner at this time. Using these brackets:

Re: Always a project truck...............my driveway build
this gives you a better idea of what I have going on. My plan was/is
1. strip/paint engine block 2. strip/paint firewall 3. strip/paint section of front frame where the stock cross-member bolts too 4. strip/paint stock cross member 5. bolt painted cross-member to painted section of frame 6. tape off/cover freshly painted surfaces 7. repeat section by section until complete

Re: Always a project truck...............my driveway build
Thanks again, the finish is far from perfect but good enough for a daily runner!
Going to give the Weber 2 barrel (38DGES) a try: Also decided to run an upgraded front caliper (dual piston):
