Re: Ugly truck contest?
Only the passenger's side fuel tank is usable, the driver's side rusted through about 3 years ago. The heater fan switch died, so I put a rocker switch in right beside the headlight switch for ON or OFF. The doors have to be slammed so hard to close fully that my wife doesn't even try anymore. She just mule kicks the door after she gets out. The hood requires two people to open, one to pull the interior handle, one to smack the hood on the pre-marked spot with a fist. The fuel pump blew a hole in the diaphragm, so I just put an electric in back by the tank. The carb is so screwed up it takes about 15 seconds of the fuel pump to fill, then 5 or more pumps of the accelerator pump before she'll start. The auto hubs gave up about 3 years ago. $75 later and the Warn manuals do the job. There's no need to use the ashtray, just flick it on the floor. It'll fall through one of the many holes down there. The windshield washer pump hasn't worked since before I bought it. I just throw a bucket of soapy water on the windshield if it gets too dirty to see. The bottom pivot point for the passenger's wing window broke, so I have to tell everyone that hops in not to try and open it or it'll fall out. The only thing holding it in is the top pivot and the closing handle. Yes, it's 4WD, but notice the different tires front and rear? I'm not sure what exactly made the bed and cab go to different heights. Could it be the several trips I've made with more then 3,500 pounds of firewood on the back? Oh, and the sliding rear window panels are only held in by dirt. If anyone were to move them, I'd need to replace the whole rear window.

Re: Ugly truck contest?
Sorry, your's ain't ugly enough. Resubmit when in 180 days or when you you loose some more sheet metal.
Don't worry, we'll have an official ugly (sort of) Truck of the Month Contest sometime this year again. I try to make at least one of the months with that theme in mind for those of us with less than show quality.

Re: Ugly truck contest?
I can't really say it's ugly, just maybe unworthy at the moment.
BTW the duck tape made the trip from Central OH to Central PA when I drove it home the day I picked it up. |

Re: Ugly truck contest?
Well, I don't feel so bad.
No, it's not my spray-bomb. I actually bought it that way! I did steel wool overspray off every single piece of chrome, including the wheel inserts (which were removed at time of shooting). Sprayed over decals, chrome, dirt, bugs.

Re: Ugly truck contest?
Seen this at a shop over here. I guess you can make your truck ugly after drinking all night.

Re: Ugly truck contest?
Heres what I started with. I've never been laughed at so much in one day in my whole life. When we pulled up with it on the car carrier, my neighbor yelled out what the f*** is that? I said thats my new GMC pick up. He told me I was retarded. I think he was right.

Re: Ugly truck contest?
race18, that reminds me of the old S15 I had when I lived in NY! It got so bad, I had to put I-bolts in each side of the box and hold the sides up with a ratchet strap!

The cab looks better then it is. The whole right side rocker fell off one day coming home from work.

Re: Ugly truck contest?
Wouldn´t even dream of driving a truck like that over here. We have to get the cars inspected every 2 years. Those would have already been taken off the streets.
