Re: A truck being a truck, let's see em.
no pics but I tend to tickle the danger line when I work my truck. I have hauled 5240# of scrap iron a couple times. 3 weeks ago I had almost 6000# of wet dirt in back. I got some crushed rock for the wifes garden a couple years ago. truck, load, and loaded pickup trailer tipped the scale at over 14,000#.
when I bouth it from the original owner back in '01 I told him I would use the thing like it was meant to be worked. found one Last edited by 68C15; 11-03-2008 at 11:14 PM. |

Not a heavy load, but a load before I replaced the step bumper. I miss that ball. I need to get a hitch for it now.

Re: A truck being a truck, let's see em.
Here's my tank at work. There are full sheets of plywood 3/4 of the way up the bedsides. All I know is that it was heavy, but I didn't have any problems hauling it.

Back in the day. What you don't see is the inside of the burb, since it was full of firewood to the second seat.

Shot a bighorn ram today. Even got him home in time to vote. Not too much photo of the truck but at the moment, Im more proud of my ram than my truck. Granted, its not as big as they come but its mine.

Re: A truck being a truck, let's see em.
. I think these trucks last forever. I've used this truck for ten years as my only daily driver and for the past five years as a six-day-a-week work truck in my handyman, landscaping and tree pruning business. It has also pulled a 19' travel trailer down past Mazatlan, out to California and all over Arizona. It'll probably outlive me. .

Re: A truck being a truck, let's see em.
This truck belongs to my neighbor who farms my moms farm. The photos were taken in front of the house I live in, my grandparents old house.
I am pretty sure he bought it new and it was his personal truck for several years. Sneaked my boat in that one. It has a tool box and diesel tank in the back and is usually out servicing one of the tractors they have. It looks like there will be wheat instead of corn around the house next year. Re: A truck being a truck, let's see em.
Here is mine, spent the summer out using it as a welding rig, It tows like a champ, but it does have a 454 and a NV 4500, so that does help things quite a bit!

Re: A truck being a truck, let's see em.
OK, i have to admit, the only thing pulled behind this ol girl was "Bulls#@". Anyway, i remember when the old man that came by the house one day...and eyeballed the ol girl...and said, "Man that's a purtty truck", ....bet you don't haul anything in it."
Well, having a few cold ones in me and thinking, "God......man, it's Sunday.....and you're too old to scrap with me......My only response was................."Well old man.....the only thing I haul in the truck is.....ASS, and those aren't donkeys'...........thems, ponies.
