I wouldn't sell the truck unless someone offered me a life-changing amount of money for it.

Re: 1967 GMC Pickup - Museum Quality

Where did the camper shell come into the equation? Did he buy it with the truck? So if bought it in '66 it is a very early production vehicle?

It's nice and cool to see and has a great story-but it's a shame a nice truck went to waste.

Maybe. GM was pumping out trucks pretty quick. My 1967 truck was built in November 1966 and it's nowhere near Vin #1. New models usually go on sale around September of the prior year.

and...

Re: 1967 GMC Pickup - Museum Quality

Priceless! Thanks so much for posting this gem. This truck is the ultimate historical reference source. Unfortunately, this model truck is rarely seen in its original configuration. Hope this truck becomes a inspiration for others to restore a '67 GMC 3/4 ton to factory standards, yes that means correct wheels and hubcaps, which are so critical to the "factory dealership look".

I agree with factorystock. And I for one would really like to see some high resolution images of the the truck especially the engine compartment.

Re: 1967 GMC Pickup - Museum Quality

Nice truck! It is a rare color for a 67 GMC. Does it have a Spid label? I am also surprised it does not have chrome hubcaps as the Customs do in literature.

I have 2 interestingly optioned 67 GMC's to restore and would love to have good pics of this to use as a reference. This would also look good along side those if your dad ever decides he wants to sell

Beautiful truck. I understand about the old guys back then. "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it" I heard that so many times in my younger days. And " What? there ain't nothing wrong with THIS one yet!"

Re: 1967 GMC Pickup - Museum Quality

I would almost venture to say you should contact Chevrolet headquarters and invite them to do a write up on it. I am interested to know what your plans are with it? Loan it to a museum? Drive it? Sell it? Inquiring minds want to know...

He already said it's garage art. Possibly loan it to a museum.

Re: 1967 GMC Pickup - Museum Quality

i bet Chevrolet would love to have a Chevy in this state. But, GMC would be the one to contact since that's what it is and General Motors Company is the parent company

Re: 1967 GMC Pickup - Museum Quality

You guys are all a wealth of knowledge on these things. I have learned more about this truck in two days then I have in a year of checking around on the web.

Honestly, what kind of realistic value would you all put on a truck like this? I know auction values can be swayed greatly by over the top bidders and the BarnFind auctions that seem to be popping up.

I think it would be awesome if GM were to contact our family especially if it could be used for a commercial spot along side the newer GMC trucks.
