They were clearly proud enough of themselves that they took the pics, but your guess is as good as mine as to how it was done.
Probably had one guy in the bed, and loaded it till it got high. Then moved the truck and one guy would stand on the roof, one on the hood, and one throwing. Thats how we did it anyway.

Nice to see some trucks used for their intended purpose. Here's 3/4 ton of rocks.

You might not be able to see all the gravel but it was enough to make my truck drag pulling out of my driveway.

This is the truck that was stolen.

Here's an old pic.
I always had to budget an extra half hour if I went to the dump here in my truck, for people to have a look under the hood etc.

You know what Phil, it's because they're a friendlier crowd up north where you are, but down here they just sit & stare at me.

Re: Pics of our trucks - payload

I have no pictures of my '71 GMC haulin anything, but I have hauled quite a bit with it over the several years I have owned it. One time went to Menards to buy a swingset and a bunch of lumber to build something and got lectured by the security gate guard about how people shouldn't use these nice old trucks to haul stuff. If I had any pics of my truck, it is clean, but not nice by any way shape or form. I explained to him that it is a truck, not a show car. He didn't really understand I guess and I went on my merry way!!!
