Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Hey there, I stumbled across this site on Google and looked around, figured I might as well join in on the fun.
Well, here's my truck. The basic details are in my signature. The engine is a crate from GM with about 30,000mi. on it. The truck has new cab corners, rockers, Texas bed, and a new front bumper. The only mods I've done so far is an Alpine headunit, homemade bed mat, and an aluminum diamondplate toolbox. Future mods include: - New wheels, has 16.5's on it now. Trying to get some 16's from a Dodge or newer Chevy. - Audio upgrade with Sony Xploid 600W amp powering 2 12" Cerwin Vegas subs and 2 6.75" Mid Bass speakers. - CB radio. I have a Texas Ranger TR-966 40ch. Dual Sideband. - New grille. - Cab visor and clearance lights. Okay, here's the pics.

Hey that's a clean truck you have, what color is that? It looks like a factory color, but from the 70s |

The color, I'm not 100% sure of it, but I looked up the factory colors from 1980-1982 and it looks darn close to Tangier Orange. Sometimes it looks red, other times it looks orange. But, I know for a fact that it's been repainted because under the dash pad (another thing that needs replaced) it looks like a Chevy Engine Orange, so who knows. I did find a factory color on a friends truck that I like. It's called Mahogany. It's a brown metallic. I'm going to go see him tomorrow, so I'll get pics of his and post'em here to.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Here is a few pics of mine. I bought the first truck in 2000. I pulled the cab and bed, and replaced them from another doner. Did the cab and bed swap in my backyard with a cherry picker. A learning experience for sure. Did 90% of this by myself..... I almost dropped the cab more than once! Here they are.....
