Thanks! The current plan for the bed floor is to be partially covered with beadrolled aluminum panels. Some of the axle and link area will stay open and exposed. Similar to Tiffany c10 if you have ever seen that truck.

Re: Wizit's bagged 60 GMC build V2.0

The swaybar components came in. I built the brackets and mocked everything in place. Im not completely happy with the look yet so it may change. I am going to leave it clamped in place for a bit and see if it grows on me.

I also started drawing up some billet upper arms for the front suspension. with all the billet on the rear it started to make me unhappy with the look of the front suspension.

Im looking at using the cross shaft of the Joes racing arms and bolting on the billet arms. They will utilize a standard c10 bolt in upper ball joint.

Re: Wizit's bagged 60 GMC build V2.0

Spent some time last night working on cab mount design. I ordered some cab mount bushings and as soon as I get those and verify thickness I will cut and build the cab mounts and trial fit the cab. That will allow me to start working on the cowl mounting.

Finished the cab mounts and set the cab on the chassis. Next step will be figuring out the grill mounts.

Re: Wizit's bagged 60 GMC build V2.0

Ive been spending a lot of time working on a new design for some of the front end components. I will be going to a unit bearing style hub and a billet spindle assemblies that I will machine.

I got in the front calipers so I can integrate mounts for them into the spindle design.
They are factory 6 piston Brembo calipers from a Cadillac CTSV. They are designed for 14.5" rotors but I have seen them used with success on the same 16.5" rotors that I am running. Pictures do not do justice to the size of these brakes.

Heres a sneak peak at the spindle design. It utilizes a unit bearing from a half ton Chevy pickup. They will be all billet aluminum.

I also got a loaner th400 so I can start working on motor placement and motor mounts. I have some special things planned for the motor mounts as well. Even more billet!

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Wizit's bagged 60 GMC build V2.0

Very cool indeed. Any thought to doing billet lower control arms for the front?

Re: Wizit's bagged 60 GMC build V2.0

Theres hasnt been much movement on the build the last few weeks. I have been just working on the design for the billet spindle set up.

I did invest in a large format 3d printer that I can utilize to prototype some of the machined parts to verify fitments, geometry, etc.
It is a Creality Ender 5 Plus.

I also invested in a larger cnc plasma cutter. I had an original Langmuir 24"x24" unit. I upgraded to their larger pro unit that also has Torch height control. I paired it with a new Hypertherm 45xp power unit and machine torch. Im very happy with the quality of cuts Im getting out of this set up!
(This pic has my old power unit hooked up while i was waiting for the new Hypertherm to arrive)
