Re: 64 c10 build

I scored a used painted grille today. I'm looking to buy a painted/primed back bumper. Anybody buy bumpers from top banana?? It would be like $169 to my door.

I don't know about top banana but, I like the painted bumpers. I think they look really clean.

Re: 64 c10 build

Thanks Mjminino! I kept my spot welds spaced out and cooled each weld with water, sanded the welds with a angle die grinder with 2" 36 grit pads.

You're moving right along and doing great work to boot!

Don't know if I missed it, but what product did you use as undercoating?

TB?

I've looking for some non-chrome bumpers for my '63.

Who made the lisence plate sitting on your cowl? Looks like it was cut with a water jet.

I’ve decided to paint the truck. I figure I’ve went this far I might as well finish it, I can’t leave well enough alone. Here is some pics of the rust repair.

Re: 64 c10 build

I finish fixing rust and I find more.. I had some rot/damage under the gas filler hole and rot under the drip rail on the driver side. I’m replacing the door skins now that the door bottoms are done. We wet blasted and wire wheeled the inside of the doors and primed ... Now I can put Hushmat the inside of the doors before installing the skins.

Re: 64 c10 build

Who made your instrument cluster? Are you running any wheel adapters on front or rear? Reason I ask is mine will be on bags and I'm wondering how close it'll be to the fenders on front and rear. Looked close in the pic you posted on page 2 (I think it was page 2).

Re: 64 c10 build

Rockers DONE! I worked on the bottom of the cab Saturday removing the old paint and undercoating with a wire wheel. I still need to sand it and hit some weld spots and it should be ready for new undercoating.

The seat looks super-nice, but no adjustment?
I guess it will be allright if you are the only driver, and it fits you...
