Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

Here's my heap. 4.5"/6" with the extra weight up front

205/70/15 (too small IMO)
255/70/15

I just put them together for rollers right now. I have 20" Billet Specialties Dagger's on the way in a few weeks and thinking I might go lower eventually / before I finish it. The back would look lower with the steps on.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

kinda sorta static.

spindles, cut coils.
the back is on bags with schraders..

front = 225/60/15 on 15x8 ( in search of 15x7s)
rear= 295/50/15 on 15x11

plan is to tub it over 20x14s in the future..... just a beater for now..

Thank you very much. Front is 2.5 spindles along with 2 inch lowering springs, rear is 4 inch lowering springs and 2 inch lowering blocks, adjustable pan hard bar. Shocks are from Classic Performance.

Do you have any more pics? You can email them to me if you want. grcoontz@comcast.net

Also could you PM me where you ordered your parts from? I am going to buy the exact same stuff you have an I want to get it from the same place so no chance of getting it wrong...(yes, I like it that much..)

Thanks

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

Here's my 68, it is what I assume to be a 4/6 static drop with 28-inch 235/75-15 tires on it. I bought it like this and have no details other than it has 2' drop spindles on the front. I am seriously considering going up to a 2/4 drop because the mean streets of Houston make this thing ride like HELL! The angles of the shocks and the drop make the shocks almost useless. Anyone know of any drop shocks that actually work well-enough for me to keep my drop? I hope the picture attaches, no gurantees.

Sorry, POS photo sharing website won't give me a link to my photos of my truck!
Why does it have to be so hard?

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

IMO - dropped spindles wouldn't make it ride rough, but if the rear shocks are in the factory location it definitely would. ECE offers shock relocation brackets for the rear that could probably help a bunch.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

I finally did some research and realized that the stock rear shock locations are useless with a 6" drop. I will be taking care of that soon. So this relates to the thread: If you drop the rear, relocate the shock mounts making sure that the shocks fit the application. An adjustable track bar is nice to have too. How many people with large rear drops have an adjustable rear track bar?
Is it mounted to the swingarm or the stock position?
OK, Trying to post pics of my 4/6 drop.

Re: How about some pics of Static Dropped C-10's

I have a quick question. Working on my new project- 72 GMC. It appears to have some static drop, but how can I tell how much the drop is? The front fender measures 31 inches from the ground to bottom of fender. I have 20'' wheels. I would like to go about 2 '' lower. What are my options? I don't know if it has a drop spindle or not.....learning!

does not look like it has drop spindles, too much clearance in the front, do a 2.5" drop in the front you can lower the rear after you do the front so you can get the stance you want.

Take a picture of the spindle and post it up.

I plan on tearing into the front end soon. I will post pics and maybe you guys can tell me. I definitely want to get the truck lower. There are some awesome trucks here and love the stance of a lowered look.
