Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
Great if that is original and unrestored gringoloco. Looks like she just rolled off the showroom floor.

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
Here's my survivor. It's a 71 with 74,000 original miles. Original paint and interior. Stock radio, original motor and trans. Winch was installed when it was new. I have the original bumper. No rust.

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
Here's my 70 Jimmy. Got it from my uncle who was the original owner. Paint is original, motor and tranny are original and have not been rebuilt, odometer is at 103k. The old pic is from the early 70's, the new pic is from last year.

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
PKZ - Your uncle had a lot of faith in that hard top to chuck a buck up there! I love hearing the stories of trucks handed down within families.

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
Pkz71 that is great looking still. Uncle took insulate care of it to still be that good interior and paint look almost perfect still. Good size buck Up There. Still not enough to crush top. It has metal cross beams for support.

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
Thanks cleszkie and Chulisohombre. Sure couldn't get away with driving with a buck on top these days. I've only had it for 2 years...took my uncle 44 years to part with it, but I jumped all over it when I heard he was ready to sell. It was garage kept and only came out for hunting/fishing and an occasional trip home to North Dakota. He had it undercoated and I believe that is what has preserved the underside so well (no rust in the rockers).
Lots of great trucks in this thread - keep them coming! |

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
I guess mine is surviving. The rust is not getting any worse. Replaced the 307 with a 350 out of another 71 blazer. Sold the hard top for about what it cost to put on the soft top, that was a win win in my book. Replaced the seats with ones out of a later model blazer, wish I would have never done that. Mounted a back seat from a 69 suburban, mine came without one originally. Came without a lot of stuff originally. There are holes for three different style mirrors in both doors, friend of mine gave me some original ones. The bumpers are obviously original, had to replace the grill when a dear customized that front bumper. Got the rally wheels off of a friends 83 blazer. Original ochre paint, I like ochre, it has grown on me over the last 19 years, but would anyone seriously paint their truck ochre by choice? So is mine really a survivor Blazer?

Re: Who has pics of survivor Blazers?
My K5 is Ochre under the blue paint. Guess what? I'm probably taking her back to Ochre. So yes, somebody would paint their K5 Ochre.
