Just so happens I have all 3, so I measured. '67-'70 is 55 1/2", '71-'72 is 57 1/2", & '73-'87 (but also includes up to '91 suburban squares) is 57 3/4".

My aftermarket wheels fit fine. I actually bought the 1st GEN 338's when they first came out to go on my, then current, '87 SWB but they didn't fit on the front due to the rotor hub size. So they sat in my basement until I built the '76 Blazer. When I got ahold of this truck I didn't even realize that there were 2 different width rearends under the '67-'72 trucks. Heck, I just took everything out from under the Blazer and slapped it under the '70 model. The rears are 18x9.5" with 5" of backspacing and they fit with room to spare... The 18" actually appears wider than the 20x10 because the 20" has 6 1/4" backspacing, which makes the lip on my 18's bigger, which I love

Cool, I love the truck! If you have it, I would appreciate seeing a pic of the tire/wheel housing clearance. No hurry, I just know square bodies are more plentiful in the wrecking yards than are trucks

Ripped out the VERY worn out stock steering column & installed a great eBay find. Tilt column (minimal electrical mods) that works flawlessly!!! Whoop whoop.

Frontend is now aligned properly and the ole truck really drives great, and stops like a Mutha!!! Now I'm going to start working on getting the other frame ready for the 5.3/4L60e swap and such. Thinking I'm going to go with the Jeep Wrangler tank and '87 Blazer sending unit to facilitate the fuel pressure requirements of the new powertrain...and it seems it'll save me about $400 which I really like

[Hijack on] The stock 87 pump is insufficient in pressure from everything I've read and been told. We have to use something like a Walbro 255lph (liters per hour) to have enough pressure to keep an LS happy. [Hijack off]

I'm going to pull the trigger on the Jeep Wrangler tank and a '87 Blazer sending unit. I'll use the Delco EP376 pump, I think . I could also use a 255lph Walbro pump...I know my Mustang one will pump at 90+ PSI without a regulator...Don't ask how :O

I had to WAY shorten the sending unit. I'd actually recommend the stock Jeep pickup for a 91 efi application and change the pump. Search the Silver Dollar build, seriously. He built the exact thing you're talking about, with great success. Here's the straight dope-

Well, I finally got a few new parts purchased for this ole truck. I got a smoking deal from a fellow board member from Huntsville Al. I bought his brand new pieces with all necessary hardware and such.
I got CPP tubular trailing arms, trailing arm mount bracket, deluxe panhard bar, shock relocation kit, transmission crossmember, tubular engine stands (with LS conversion mounts), tubular upper & lower control arms (with 73-87 ball joints), bags for front & rear with related mounting brackets, 1.25" front swaybar. I'll probably try to do some preliminary fitting on my extra SWB frame this weekend if the rain stays away.
