Re: Scott's hotrods shop truck

the floor will be all in, braced, and welded by tomorrow. Once that's all in, they can start working on installing the new bolt in IFS. I can't wait to see it installed on the truck, not just the mock up.

Since Justin's putting a big block in it, the factory motor mounts won't work; with a small block though, the stock mounts will work!

Before the step notch can go in, the rear section of the floors going to have to come out. Hopefully they get that out and I'll get some shots.

Justin what size wheel will be needed to work with this set up??

Guys as a customer of Scott's I will say they are great to work with they built a 1 off air ride for a 35 international 1 ton I built......keep in mind we are shores apart....after alot of pics and measurements the thing slid right under the truck wheel stance and width was perefect even considering I built the truck on Bud (dually) wheels and even with the old flat fenders everthing cleared.......

Nothing but thumbs up for these guys

I could be a salesman for these guys and always have a clear consious it a quailty product....but once you see there work you relize it sells itself

Scott's Hotrods Bolt in IFS install....

Justin wanted me to post this up for you guys, and rather than just stick it in his Suburban thread, I thought I'd post up an install here. The only thing not finished are the shock mounts, and possibly rack notches if it needs them, but I think that we are good without the notches.

Here ya go, I'll let the pics explain most of it.

Here's everything before going in.

crossmember bolted to the table for assembly. It's easier to bolt it all together, then stick it in all in one piece.

pretty idiot proof so far

Re: Scott's Hotrods Bolt in IFS install....

pretty sure the last thing I need to do is post a bunch of pics on how to take out the old crossmember, so we;ll skip that part!

OK, she's about ready to go....

New unit is rolled into place. The guys ended up using a big pipe clamp to squeeze the frame a bit. makes it easier.

a few bolts here, a few bolts there.

These c-channel pieces really make a big difference when it comes to stiffening the frame up.

And we're just about done.

Stay tuned till Monday. The brakes, the shocks, and the notches will be in by then.
