Mine's 32'x32', two 8'x10' overhead doors and a man door. I have lots of light and heat when it's needed



These were taken before I had completed the sheet rock on the ceiling. Since I'm in construction, I have been slowly gathering up leftovers from work and when I get enough for a project, I do it.





Like my main heating system-a propane-fired water heater, circulating pump and 2 unit heaters. It works pretty good, it'll keep it up in the 50's no matter how cold it is outside. All of it salvaged from re-model work. The other system, that I thought would be just a back-up, works good enough that often it's all that's needed. My shop has a single-slope roof, that is, it is 16' tall at the front and 8' tall at the rear, so over 1000 sq ft of southern facing black shingles. Even on cold days the attic space gets very warm, so I harvest that with a ceiling-mounted exhaust fan sucking air out of the shop space and dropping it back into the shop space at the front. For a little bit of cool-factor, the upper vents are fire-smoke dampers. Normally, F/S dampers are in ductwork, and are held open with current, and close when a fire alarm cuts the power. I wired these up to stay closed, and through an attic vent thermostat, they come open and the exhaust fan turns on. On a sunny day, if it's over about 25 or 30 degrees outside, it will stay running almost countinually. Except for the power to run the fan, it's free heat

20x25. Haven't started working on anything yet. Just park the DD in there for now. Wanting to build a 36x40 on its spot but need more money first. I think this stupid little garage is only about 7 ft or 7'6 tall. I can reach up and touch the trusses with no problem and im 5'11.

Going to see a couple of houses at the weekend, one has a smallish (well by your standards anyway!) double garage and a small single but room to knock them all down and build a decent sized workshop, maybe a pole barn, the other has a massive 23' x 57' workshop, the roofs tall enough for a lift and maybe a mezzanine floor, with a pit already in and two full height doors. Who's bothered about the house.....

Well I don't have any current pics(its sided and everything now) or a full picture for that matter. I will get some soon and post them up. You can see part of it in the back of the pic. It's a 32x48. Its heated. Also have a 24x24 attached(will get pics of it, too). Wish we woulda built the 32x48 to about 40x60 or even bigger.

This is where my magic happens. 20x32.


No heat. No ac. Running water when it rains (summer project) But it has a 3x6x4.5ft deep oil change pit in the center bay. Need to redo the electric, add a gutter, and fix some drainage and I'll be good. Blazer currently resides in the center bay.

Here is mine, this is when I had emptied it to do the floor, I put an epoxy floor coating with HD paint colour chip in it,then a heavy coat of industrial clear over it. It has three garage doors. Two in front and one at back for a drive through to the yard.
Now the garage is in work mode with all my tools and truck back in it. It's going to need a good cleaning to make it look like it did. But that wont happen till the truck is done.

last spring/summer I tore down the wood shed and built a 32x40 with 12ft ceiling, still got a bunch of work to do to finish the inside.

Mine, built myself, 6 inch thick insulated concrete walls to the gable peak. 24x28 inside dimension. Finished studio upstairs where my wife and I live. Downstairs is wide open with 6x12 i-beam holding up 2nd floor. Temporary frame wall covered with plastic so 1 side is storage of household stuff, laundry, Freezer. Other side is my workshop, motorcycle parking, hangglider storage, bike storage, spare parts..... Wished I had made it twice as large and wouldn't have to build house.

I will have my second done in March. let's meet halfway for beer in the trucks. A Hooters would work for me. We can park in front and sit right next to them.
