Oops! Thanks for filling me in.
I agree, though, the asking price is way out of line. |

I would check the numbers on the frame to make sure it matches they could have changed the glove box door.

As was said before in this thread but i thought id add my .02 cents anyway. A vehicle is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay. At 7500 itll sit there. Give him a month or two and affer him 2500 and i bet hed probably take it.

Monte, that's assuming the guy really wants to sell it. Just because someone walks up with cash doesn't mean it's persuasive. Especially if the amount of cash is less than the person is looking for.

A 400 is not a big block........run the casting number and I'm 99.9999999999% sure it's a small block, unless it's a vette option :P

The engine in that truck is a big block. A 400 small block was not available in these trucks. It is a 402 cubic inch or "400 big block" As it became known.

I've always heard and called a 402bb a 402bb not a 400bb.

Re: WOW Cheyenne Super SWB BBC Stepside 400ci Truck REAL? Thinking about it, is it RE
all the 402 is, is just a glorified 396, it was called many things, the 402bb the 400bb, and some people still called it a 396bb, but starting in 70 they quit production the the 396 and added the 400BB option but its actually a 402, dont ask y the did that? who knows but just kinda helps fill in the gaps so for the most part its called the 400 due to this badge, and listing it in the spid as option L47 400

This is getting a little off topic but the picture of the engine compartment in the first post is all I need to tell me what is in this truck. It is a big block. It doesn't matter what the badge says. The engine is a big block.

Re: WOW Cheyenne Super SWB BBC Stepside 400ci Truck REAL? Thinking about it, is it RE
$4000 to $4500 is a fair price for what I see if you are wanting to do a frame off and have a well optioned original truck.Restored correctly and matching numbers this is the most popular truck in the collector car market. The economy is bad now but it will not stay that way forever. There are alot of trucks out there that are longbeds swapped to short frames but a true # matching 115'' wheel base with matching spid will be worth more money if you need to sale it later.I would say let him set on it awhile in the present econemy and then stick some cash in his face and make an offer.Just my 2cents.
