Great write-up, your attention to detail/knowledge has convinced me that I have no business rebuilding our 351E. Let me know when you want us to ship ours to you for "service"

Re: 1966 GMC 305 V6 Service

Musicman70 turned me on to Napa mount which crossed to Anchor 2337 and fit perfect.
I loosely attached one mount then released hoist pressure.
Moved chain to list engine port/starboard.
Loosely attached all front motor mount bolts while listing engine back and forth.
Released hoist pressure then shot both trans mount bolts.
Applied thread locker to trans mounts and torqued to 35 ft/lbs (don't know OEM spec).
Gradually tightened front mounts while rocking engine under hoist pressure.
Dropped engine and torqued all mount bolts.

BTW: Anchor 2337 has those pesky metric threads.

Re: 1966 GMC 305 V6 Service

Trans mounts 2107 and 2108 fit perfect but you must make sure spacer and mount rubber is under compression. Galvanized pipe makes a strong spacer. Test fit required to make sure rubber is snug when bolt tightened against spacer.

Refreshments are no problem, but I've never been referred to as "petite"...does that mean the deal is off??

Re: 1966 GMC 305 V6 Service

Delayed tip: Dip stick tube address should be marked before removing.

Heat didn't help extract the block PCV filter house. Slide hammer didn't work. Don't know proper way to remove. Can grind a heavy putty knife to get a purchase under small lip. Prying against the lip worked but not easy because little real estate to gain purchase. PCV house was perfectly content w/ it's 1966 address.

May be able to drive out from bottom like dip stick tube but I removed from other block and didn't wanna remove crank.

Thanks.
I tried to get on over there a few weeks back for 3 days.
I guess their site was under construction.
I'll look for a 6066gmcclub round to it

1966 GMC clutch linkage.
Made new linkage from carriage bolt.
I like to drill for bronze or steel bushings.

Re: 1966 GMC 305 V6 Service

Adjusting clutch w/ feeler gauge would be easy if had a helper.
Welded a washer to linkage to reduce bushing stress.

It behaved perfect w/o an issue.
Took 22 minutes before I turned on 115 VAC backup fan to assist cooling that massive V6.
Ended up doing a 45 minute break-in.
