Re: What did you do to your truck today?

This is the part that I fixed. Now I just gotta do the patch on the top part of the hood. I also moved my motor and all my junk from one place to another a few days ago aswell as picked up some pistons and a good crank for it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Went out a while ago planning on welding up the hood. Ended up grabbing my brand new Kafka brush and laying down some lines. Not centered too well but just playing getting some ideas for what I want to do.

Thanks Scott. If you interested in pinstriping you should try it out! Its cheap to get started and its a fricken blast. I highly recomend the Kafka scrolling brush I use. I have a Mack and 2 Chico brushes but they are nothing like this brush. Its what I'll use for 90% of my work now. I've been striping for like 6 months now. Hopefully in a year or so I'll start striping other peoples cars. There is a high demand for it here, I was talking to the guy at the paint store and he was ready to get me some customers.

Hid the panel in the carport. I had 12 of 19 pine trees cut down today. There goes the money for the motor I wanted.

I like the artwork too. Every striper has to start somewhere. The farthest I ever got was striping the wheels on my 46 Ford sedan.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I have been cutting out old metal on customer's big window cab and waiting for some cab corners, so I start putting it back together, maybe starting tomorrow.

Degreased the engine bay of the white '64 GMC truck. The new owner is picking it up in two weeks, so I wanted to get it dialed-in.

I also got the green '64 Chevy C20 ready for a customer to look at...he ended up driving it away with title and Bill of Sale in hand.

Picked up the balance of my painted sheet metal from the painter yesterday. It is looking good hanging on OLRED66...my '66 Chevy C20 Custom Camper.

I love these trucks and I am looking for a new project, so if you have a '60-'66 Chevy/GMC truck you would like restored, please keep me in mind.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Thanks Vern, but the deicer I was referring to is the salt and mag chloride they put on the roads these days. That crap eats the heck out of everything that isn't plastic......so pretty much all of an old Chevy. I wish they would have just kept using sand/gravel.

I would rather cut them out of my yard than out of my living room after a hurricane. Some were diseased and the pine sap was hurting the paint jobs on the vehichles. The wood will be milled into #2 pine and the trees will be replaced with more trees native to Florida.

I agree, sand and salt would save us all.
Today I started up my truck and let her run for about 10 minutes. Looked at it, planning, planning and more planning.

Watched it snow and wished I had a bigger shop. E-bay treasures arrived today. I bought a '64 wiper motor for $1.25 + 9.00 shipping Going Elk hunting this weekend in the snow. I must be crazy.

Nothing that required artistic talent. I just added a factory style triple stripe on the center between the hubcap and the rim. I was pleased all four came out looking the same, but it took a lot of wiping off before I got it right. I've still got the brush but don't remember ever using it again.
