I was actually thinking about renaming the build to something like, "can I please have the credit card, I really need this part"... Actually, I am torn between getting a new bike or a motor for the truck.

I would grab an old powerplant to get it moving, and buy a bike

...You have to get it out, projects like that need sunshine and fresh air to grow!!!!They tend to die off in the garage. Remember it isn't an Auto, 'til it's "MOBILE".

I feel for you...I am trying to build one on the cheeeap, just stuff I have laying around the garage. The exact opposite of how my Chevelles always went together ( Can I have the number on the back of your card please? )

Thanks yall. I hopefully I can finish the fenders this weekend and move onto the pillars and install the latches. I found a crate motor at the chevy dealership for $4500 - turn key, this good?

Man for $4500 you can get a LS2 motor, Tranny and computer for that thing!

Where can I get this deal? I was planning on getting a crate motor and trans for $6,500 from the dealership.

a salvage yard, you would be surpised the things you can get with low miles, great engines and trans for a good price.

Just call around to your bigger GM recyclers and see what their warienty is on used motors. I have bought several over the years and have never had a problem. Remember the new GM motors are 100,000 miles before the first tune up so they are very reliable motors. Try and fine one with 50k or less and you should be just fine. Just tell them you are putting it into an older vehicle so you need every thing that goes with it. You can also call Turn key engines or speed and performance as they sell ready to run used motors with warientys.

Finished the pass door fender today. Finishes off the inside of the fender pretty well. Now when the door is opened, it wont be so ugly. Now I can install the strikes. Anyone know of an easy inside door latch that works with the bear claw?

Small world! As for door handles almost any of them will work well with Bearclaw's as they are designed to be very flexible for hooking up. Have you decided if you are going to run the strike on the door or the jamb yet? If on the door then your handles would mount in the kick or on/under the dash. A good place to find some would be in the street rod mags. I had several sites saved in my favorites but we just had some comp issues and I swapped over to my I-Mac after 20+ yr.'s of PC so I have not figured this thing out real well yet let along how to get my old files off the PC and on to here.

I personally love the look and build of this blazer. Like Kevin said, if you can do the work then you do it. A person does it to have something that is unique and different from anything else from the crowd. He can also say that he did the work himself. My .02
