Re: My Truck
Love the color. Keep up the great work!!!! I had a 63 GMC a few years ago myself and traded it off. Yours makes me wish I would have hung onto it.

Re: My Truck
Thanks Chevyrod, I don't ever plan on getting rid of it especially with it's history and how much I love that body style. What part of Florida are you from?

Re: My Truck
Beautiful truck, nice to see another FL member as well, whereabouts is Live Oak? I've heard of it, just don't know of where it is.

Re: My Truck
Thanks guys and that sounds good Chevyrod. And Dylan, Live Oak is about an hour's drive east from you on Interstate 10. Right near Madison County.

Re: My Truck
Thanks Wolf. I will warn you that paint isn't cheap. I bought it from Napa and it was priced around $450 a gallon. But it is quite a beautiful color and I really can't wait to get it done and rolling through town cause I know it's going to turn plenty of heads. I'm ready to get the whole thing painted and roll it out into the sunshine.

Re: My Truck
that is one nice build you have going on there, i remember when i was your age doing my truck the firsttime, had to drive 2 hours to work on it, anyways, great color you have there and i respect your decision to keep the old 6, i never knew the valve covers came like that. go figure.

Re: My Truck
Yet another update has popped up today. I found out that my hood's ready for pick-up so I'll have pics up of that tomorrow, and I plan on ordering my wheels within the next week or so. But I'll get some pics up tomorrow evening of the hood to show off my new beauty.

Today I ordered my wheels and tires so I should have them in by next Friday. Though they want be put on the truck until after it's done in the paint booth in a few weeks. As far as the wheels go they are 20" BOSS 313's in chrome and are complete with a fresh set of med-profile Kumho rubbers for the best in protection. I got a sweet deal on the package from some friends of mine here at Town and Country Tire here in Live Oak. I'll get ya'll some pics once I get 'em and especially once I get them on after paint.

Re: My Truck
Got the front inner fenders and core support hung today and I figured that I might as well mount the front fenders and check out the hood.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And this is the only bad part I'm finding regarding fitment. Pretty lousy grinding job on that line. Also, I'm going to have to take it down on the passenger side where it meets the cab corner because it rests atleast a good half inch above at that spot. ![]()

Re: My Truck
Yeah it's coming along great. I'm just trying to get the lines to line up right and get everything ready to go back together for paint. Should be in paint by 2-3 weeks. After that time for wiring and the interior.
