I could drive old Route 66 nearly the whole way. That is something I have always wanted to do, drive the the "MotherRoad" to Cali. See all the old towns and historic Americana. Man, that would be so cool!

Ok, I am gonna need doors...and a seat! Yeah, a seat and I should probably get the fenders on...

This made me laugh. So you are coming right?

In the past I believe a local hotel offers a discount for guests attending the C/10 Party If you havent attended it , believe me it is worth the drive ! The hospitality is 2nd to none, and the trucks are beautiful Great time for sure

You bet! I'll just throw the dash, wiring harness, carpet, wheels, hood and tires in the bed and head your way... of course the bed isn't actually on the truck either so...

All kiddin aside, even though the old girl will not be ready this year I had already started making plans to see if I could take a week off and drive 66 to LA. So, I may try to have that coincide with next years "get together"

1700 miles in a 45 year old truck...what could possibly go wrong!

I honestly have not slept there, but I live 80' from the tracks myself, and you get used to it. As long as you don't drink too much, one night won't hurt you.

Approaching the 2K hit mark and it is great to see the thread and pics still posted up here for all to see, just makes me a bit more curious as to why some and not others just as I had posted here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...07#post4806207

Yes the C/10 Club wants everyone to be a part of this event. Not just California members. Even if you live across the country and can't attend the Get Together. You can read see pics and give us your comments on this great forum if they don't move this thread where mostly California members only read. CA. REGIONS

Rene at the rate your get togethers are growing it may not be long before you will have to move to some fairgrounds or someplace and call it the Sun Coast Chevy Truck Nationals or something. Hey, I kinda like the sound of that.
I can see truck caravans heading that way for an annual event. Cool.

Boog, you've been reading my mind, we haven't even had this party yet, and I keep wondering, what are we going to do next year?

Currently in Afghanistan, but 2012 I am there even if I have to tow Project "Heaven" (She only gets about 4mpg and its a long drive from TX)... I cant wait and am looking forward to pictures...

Maybe some of the TX members can come up with something like this in TX. I am game and have some land in Central TX that I may be willing to use for a location that we can all come to! Just an idea!

Re: A 67-72 Extravaganza

You guys who live to far away could like club together and hire a Greyhound or something and have it start from furthest member away and pick up others along the way to Cali...and i'll bet it would be a laugh on that bus.

Or am I talkin outta my pipe.

Actually i'm furthest away...OK, we need a plane as well.
