Re: How about dash/guage bezel/guage pics!

Still have more work but here it is so far...

I have to re-drill the mounting holes.. and the deck opening is kinda hacked up.. (It was very bad when I started) but the trim piece on the deck covers the ugly...

I had to drimel out the blinker holes.. (kinda of a pain)

it's hard to tell by the pics but I rounded the edges leading to the gauges.

you can kinda see what I started with...

Re: How about dash/guage bezel/guage pics!

looks pretty good so far...So your planning on just making a face out of FG to go over it? It almost looks like you could paint it as is and still have a nice looking dash...I kinda like the smooth flat look...

no, I'm going to have it painted to match the trim piece I had done for the space between my AC vents

nice...So you just sanded it down smooth and filled the gaps in between each section? I think I may do this on mine

yeap, less is more with the bondo.... you sand 80% back off...

I went for the all or nothing approach.. (mostly because my bezel was trash)
If I had a nice bezel to start I might try to get one from a scrap yard. case things didn't go to plan, worse case for me I already had to buy a new one!

Corts60 I like that one. Who makes that? I like the extra gauges where the vent would be.

I am looking at it closer now. Is it Photoshoped?

Last night we finally got the Auto Meter gauges installed into the bezel. Should have it up and running in another day or two.

Re: How about dash/guage bezel/guage pics!

Here's my gauge assembly. Started life as a '91 Suburban & an early 70's C50 cluster. Used the tach out of the earlier model into the Sub' unit. All of it was totally re-worked by Redline Gauge Works.

All the bulbs were replaced with LED units & all the internals of the gauges are modern & set-up for my LS motor.

The clock is a N.O.S. unit I scored on eBay!

Thanks , I made the bezel myself out of 1/8" aluminum , I wish I would have made more of them but 1 took me a couple months to build that 1 plus I didn't really think anybody else would like it ! The hardest part was making the bottom half that goes around the column , I must have made 20 trips from the shop to the house to get it to fit just right ,
