I will just add my info into the mix.
I installed some 7" Dapper lights into my 72. They have a few versions, including one which is LEDs. I did their V2, which is a true HID projector light. You can customize them quite a bit, including chrome, black, or carbon backgrounds. You can add halos (inner and outer) as well as switchback lighting.
I did it all, so I have outer halos always on (running light), and inner halo is parking light. Headlights off, the outer halo os 100% power. When headlights come in, they're 50% power. Highbeam is a true shutter, with clear cutoff too.
When I flip my turn signal out, the outer white halo blinks amber (switchback). It's a pretty trick setup.
I did have to cut my buckers larger for the V2, as it's a bigger light. I think the V1 and LED lights are smaller, but not as bright.
But like I said, it's all optionaly, so you could get just a more traditional looking HID by going without halos in their chrome background.
