Hey Stan if the trans is older or has been sitting for awhile you might think about replacing the seals now, before you start driving it and it starts leaking. It would be a drag if you had to remove it again.

hey jeff whats up .i know its apain to takeit back out iwill see what i can do i will call a guy on sat he has a 700r4for 250$ and i im buying a 650carb from him so lets see what happens....

ok so i went to dmv to register my daily car in ny , and i was lucky because the lady open a brand new boxs of license plates and guess what was the first number?.>>>>..1949 so i ask the lady to please give me 1956 and she said ok// so here is my license plate and all i have to do is go back to dmv and tranfer this pate to my (baby girl)....lol

Nice score on the plate!

Just a heads up on your trans and 373 rear setup. I'm running the same in my truck with a rear tire size 285/60/16 and at 60 MPH the engine is turning 2900 RPM!! Hopefully soon I'll have a 700R for it!

every body tell me the same thing (700r4) its the way to go i have no choice im going to get the 700r4 and i will sell my 350tranny on craiglist for like 100$dollars ,...

you can also go with taller rear tires, that will help bring the cruising rpms down some. i am going with a th350 in mine (cause i already have it) but drilling holes in the frame for the mounts for the 700r4 to swap in later.

well, i just saw that you were running a 3.73. it is going to be hard to make up for that with just tire. even with a 30" tall tire, you will be turning 3134 rpms at 75 mph.
