Re: My New 68 Patina Daily Driver Project

I like the stance! Looks a lot lower than 5" drop in the rear, could you post a shot of the front cross member? I had always heard that cutting 2 coils in the front would get the front member too close to the ground.

Thanks Roger, the back only has 5: drop springs. I will take a picture of the cross member once the weather clears up, it's been raining non stop up here in the mountains. I wanna say it's about 4-5" off the ground.

We have exhaust and registration! I'm gonna have my dad drive it around town for a month or so to work out some of the kinks and then I'll come get it and daily drive it

Any updates on this truck? I recently picked up a dark green longbed from Burnsville and your build on this one has me inspired.

I got her on the road and then my buddy talked me into selling it to him. He's in the middle of a frame off build with the truck, LS motor, and rust repair. He's keeping the paint original, I think just gonna polish it up once it's done. Burnsville is up my way, do you have any pictures of your green truck?

Re: My New 68 Patina Daily Driver Project

Ah, I see. You should tell him to keep this thread going, it looks like a cool truck and sounds like it's turned into a great build. You don't see too many dark green C10s around, have to try and keep up with them when you find one. I got mine a few months ago. It actually spent most of its life here in the Winston Salem/ Kernersville area, but moved to Burnsville for a while before I bought it and brought it back. It was a nice little drive through the mountains. I went to school at ASU so it was nice to make a trip back in that general region of the state. Here's a pic of the truck in Burnsville where I bought it.

Nice! I graduated in '08 and then went to Wake Forest for grad school. I now work at Wake. Yeah, he had quite a few C10s. It was a fun place to check out. His name is JD. I can send you his number if you want. He also posts a bunch of stuff in the Asheville CL.

Lookin' great!! my '72 C20 is the same color. The rusting you've got in the rockers and the cab corners is practically identical to mine. I love my ol Green Beast. Looking forward to watching your progress on this. Awesome truck!

Re: My New 68 Patina Daily Driver Project

He sold this truck so unfortunately no more updates on it here, however, it is currently in the hands of c10_man on Instagram (if you guys are into that) and he supplies a steady flow of updates on it.

Man, I would have had a hard time letting one that cool go (especially after not really even driving it?), but it looks like it's definitely in good hands!

Yea it wasn't easy but he wanted it pretty bad and made me an offer I couldn't turn down. I got to drive it a little but at the end of the day it needed a different rear gear to drive daily, top speed was about 50 mph with the tongue hanging out. It was a cool truck but you can't keep em all Or maybe you can??

Just skimmed through your "jane" build and noticed at the end you were at the Maggie Valley Nats this year. I was there as well with the Upstate GM Truck Club. My pile was the blue 67 stepside with "Jesse James Chevrolet" on the side.

Will do. I believe we're planning to use the show as a club event again.
