Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
Thanks for the run down on the sand blaster. I'm not sure I am going to tackle bulding one but I'll hang on to the info just in case.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
No worries, but honestly though, I'd just go to Harbour Freight down in the states if I was to do it again...
http://www.harborfreight.com/90-lb-p...lid-93889.html A lot less hassle, no worry welds and it pretty much cost me this much to make it anyways! Cheers, Ted.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
Ummm... wow... didn't quite expect the thought of making a conversion kit for these! I wouldn't even know what to charge for such a kit, but might be willing. The prototype took a fair bit of time, but now that's done... would be a lot less time.
Things that make you go hmmmm... Ted.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
You would be right... I've had a few and thought that I would post for those that have... just let let know them know what's happening.
I've already started making a few sets of the parts (10 in total at the moment), so will take a bit due to a full time job and other commitments, but they are in the works. I may look into another set in the future if the desire exists, but I honestly never expected this to turn into a sales thread... lol! So far, the list, as PM'd and posted is: 1. Jeffs51chevy - Shipped - Rec'd 2. 54Jimmy - Paid - Shipped 3. a5Ben - Paid - Shipped 4. Wibas 5. Av8tr3337 6. nomas54 7. rhodog 8. T Hilde - Paid - Shipped 9. MarKist 10. drummin89 Once I've got them all made up, I'll get ahold of everyone to discuss how you'd all like them shipped and the cost, PM me if you change your mind and payment will be through Paypal. I don't suspect it will take too long, probably a couple of weeks at best. Cheers! Ted.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
Alum is T-6061, steel parts are just CRS heat treated in an oil bath for corrosion prevention, not proofing.
Patents are pending... always good to have lawyers for friends ![]() Progress has been good, main bodies almost done, wing section 3/4 done... just nuts to finish up... Cheers, Ted.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
Well over half way done on the parts, should be looking at completion by this time next week, fingers crossed.
For those that have requested to be put on the "list" that aren't on it. I may look at another run in a month or so, or if I get another 10 names to run a set off. But I'll keep you on the list unless you change your mind. For those that have indicated interest, I'll PM you all with the particulars when the last parts are complete. Cheers and thanks for your patience, Ted.

Great Job, I'm new to the forum. Is there a chance that I could get on the next list.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
Still working on the first batch of 10 and coming along rather quickly for doing them in my 'offtime'. Patents have been filed in Canada and the US (ouch) and just waiting to hear back from them for the grant.
Had a chat with a machinist buddy of mine who's possibly interested in doing a batch for me based on my drawings. So, to this extent, here's a list of names on the 'next' set: 1. BlueJeep 2. HALFADIME 3. weids 4. ozzie50 Before the second batch gets shipped, I'll be waiting to hear back from those that were on the first list, just incase any issues were encountered that needs resolving. Cheers! Ted.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
As we approach the end of the week, those that have approached me / paid for their kits, thanks again, I hope you enjoy them for years to come. For everyone else, I'll open the rest up for first-come-first-served for the remainder on sunday at lunch (PST).
Cheers! Ted.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
I'm going to hold off on buying one for now so feel free to jump in and buy the one I had reserved. I am in no hurry to get one. If a second batch is built sometime down the road then I will jump in. I'm changing jobs so I am proceeding with caution on the money side of things.

Re: It finally starts... another S10 swap...
Thanks kindly for the kind words! Honestly, I wish they were CNC'd... these are individually machined, deburred and glass bead blasted after machining marks are removed. T6061 aircraft grade aluminum and free machining steel, heated and oil bathed for some corrosion protection on the nuts. Brass fittings for the pivot points and voila.
The CNC is coming though... my best buddy and I are building one as we speak... designed to do aluminum and also to fit my plasma cutter ![]() Cheers, Ted.
