Hey thanks for the heads up! I was already thinking of junkyard diving, now I have a vehicle to look in... :-)

Any possibility you could give me approximate measurements off the one in your minivan?

Thanks

What about 4 speed fitment?

Any trouble with a 4 speed shifter hitting the cupholder when its open all the way? I have a bigblock/4 speed truck and the shifter is moved forward a few inches because of the big block. Anyone?

only issue I see is that it blocks access to the stereo while in use... not a big deal, just put your beverage back in your crotch for a sec...

for the radio you buy a new one with a remote. and the 4 speed you start out in second and shift to 4th

Pickupman, put me on the list for one of those however long it takes. It looks like the best solution I've seen yet, aside from swapping out the bench for buckets or the manual for an auto.

Old Air Products has a brand new product which replaces the stock ash tray. The drink holders can carry 12 oz can or cup easily. Larger drinks don't fit as well.

Their product isn't on their website yet, but the part # is: 50-0004 and goes for $48.95.

Their contact info is:
817-531-2665
www.oldairproducts.com

There are several options for the ash tray you will need to know:
• Removeable mounting bracket with plastic side tracks
• Non-removeable mounting bracket with plastic side tracks
• Non-removeable mounting bracket with metal side tracks

ok guys i got mine in. it took me 2 hours to do, you have to pull your glove box, heater control, radio, and dash to get to everything. a large tacobell cup fit perfectly in there. for you guys with a 4 speed, you might have some trouble. i switched to an auto and a floor shifter the same hight as the stock 4 speed handle and i cant have it in park with the cup holder fully extended. from the dash it sticks out 5.5 inches. i will post some pictures when i get my camera back tonight.

I installed mine yesterday and it works great! As said before-it took a couple hours and since I don't have a glove box to remove or put back in it was just that much easier. I managed to get it done with out removing the dash, but it would have made it much easier to remove it.

So yesterday i am sitting in the back of my friends 2000 VW Jetta and i pull out the cup holder and.................ITS THE SAME ONE!!!!! so i am sure you guys could go down to your local VW dearlership and buy one. they probably added some parts like the mounting hardwear but that isnt anything that cant be made. if some one took pics of the cup holder before they installed it you could see the hardwear

Now that would have a certain "cool" factor to it. Being able to say, "Oh yeah, I just took a cup holder from a Jetta (or Windstar), trimmed it up and made a set of brackets, yada-yada-yada, and here is a completely stealth cup holder!" Not trying to take money out of anyone's pockets here, but it would be cool to try if someone was willing to take several photos of their store-bought one and post them.

Yeah, sounds good, except according to a thread over on the GD board, if you use Jetta parts, you have to paint your truck pink...
