Re: Mike's 66 swb dropmember build
I feel like I'm starting to make some progress now. Got tired of waiting for my 22" Coy's so I had them send me a set of 20's. I still need to get my tie rod adapters from porterbuilt so I can put the rack on. I didn't realize I didn't have them until yesterday. My wife keeps asking me when the truck will be done. Please excuse the Ford in the picture, that's my beater I drive to work.

The 20" look great ... although I'd have opted for the staggered 22/20 combo but what the hey.

Looks great!
What's the wheel size, backspacing, and tire size? I assume those tires are directional?

Re: Mike's 66 swb dropmember build
Wheels are 20 x 8 1/2 with 5.25 backspace. 255/35/20. After looking at the picture looks like I have a couple of the tires backwards. I didn't realize they were directional.

Looks killer!
Do you have a target date for it to be rolling down the highway? Would love to see it at some of the Midwest shows this year.

Re: Mike's 66 swb dropmember build
that looks really good!! That is almost the same blue that my 65 was years ago. I like the contrast between it and the black.
What headers are those on that engine?

Re: Mike's 66 swb dropmember build
Headers are from Summit Racing. I think they were Patriot Clippster Headers made to fit an early camaro or chevelle. They fit real nice with no clearance problems. I'm having a drive shaft made right now.

Re: Mike's 66 swb dropmember build
I thought they were shorties from a chevelle or similar. Thanks for the feed back. I ordered a set of chevelle shorties off of ebay, just waiting on them to arrive.

Re: Mike's 66 swb dropmember build
Got my drive shaft made. I had a late model shaft that I had the rear shaft shortened and the front shaft made longer. I just finished stripping out the cab and uncovering all the rust. They just slopped bondo and tar on the cowl. It looks like they put new rockers on at some point. This part is not going to be much fun.
