Re: LS1 Swap to a 73 cheyenne
I'm not a big fan of Airtex or Carter Fuel pumps. I would have grabbed a Delco. They just seem to out last the rest.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
You may already know but you need different clamps and high pressure hose between the pump and sender, The low pressure hose will blow or the plastic clamps will give, causing a major fuel leak inside the tank.

the motor mount plates are from S&P, allows you to bolt LS-1 to original V-8 motor mounts |

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Keep it cool, so i got my electric fan today and I just finished mounting it. The fan is from Jegs its their dual 12'' S-blade reversible but im going to run it as a puller, sweet fan it eavan had a rubber type cushion. For the wiring i used the Perma Cool's adjustable prope type Kit. Dual fans require a 30 Amp relay sold separately, 160°F - 210°F "Vari-Cool" adjustable electronic fan control. To mount it i used Perma Cool's metal strap kit, had to bend to custom fit.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
Very cool build i keep debating on putting the ls into my truck as well. I was at half off sale a few months ago and saw a ls motor out of a camaro getting wheeled up to the cash register. I was sick to my stomach.....if only i was there earlier.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
This is how it sits now, after the swap the front will rise about 2" +or- due to the lighter aluminum block. I will have to adjust the front suspension to have it sit like this again.
