Re: 69 cst-10

got the rear tires on. they are taller then i thought but will work, maby after she is running and has some miles on it i will get some nice 18-20 inch rims on it. but for now, these will be doing the hooking(er: ). I really need to get it cleaned up, sitting for so long got it dirty. Ill wash it while moving it to my garage. I have another set of rims, 10x15 2in backspace. maby put some regular BFG like the front so it dont look like it has much under it,

Re: 69 cst-10

I got the truck moved from my friends house to mine. borrowed a trailer from a co worker. After putting the bed on, i like the way it sits and the way the tires are in the wells. I amy drop it a little more but not to much, will see once everything is on it.

Re: 69 cst-10

Should be running in a week or so. Still need to get the driveshaft. I am ordering the fuel pump/line/gauges and a few other items needed to get the engine fired up. Hope to have the wiring finished soon.

Re: 69 cst-10

I am in love with your truck. I am doing someting very similar with my 91 chevy. BIG BLOCKS ALL THE WAY!!! I built up a forged 496 and am working on aquiring a 6-71 blower for it. I had to backhalf the truck, but now that it's finished I wish I would've done that watts link. It looks amazing installed! Keep it up dude, get some vids of it runing!

Re: 69 cst-10

Got my fuel system on order, should be here this weekend if not Monday. Will be spending my Sun-Wed off installing it. I love Summit brand stuff, i saved almost $80 getting Summit over Earls/Russels tubes and hardware. Got a Mallory Pump. Have a few other small suspension things coming and my Rad mounting brackets. I have a 31X19 alum 2row 1in and it will not work with stock mounts so i had to order some brackets. I may need to get a pusher fan becase it will be a tight fit, will see once mounted.

Re: 69 cst-10

Got the fuel system finished. I need to find a brace or new mounting position for the pre carb filter. Have the Radiator finished but do have some worries about the lower tube. Had to get a flex tube hose for it because of my alternator mount. Also got my LFD pedel and Lokar cable installed. A 24 inch cabel is a bit long. Any suggestions on the Lower Radiator hose?

Re: 69 cst-10

Any suggestions on the Lower Radiator hose?

have a qualified aluminum welder remover the hose connection from the radiator and re-clock it to the left or cut and weld it straight on the radiator. this is what I had to do on my project.

I think that we have the very same Lokar accelerator cable set up. The Lokar stuff is made to be shortened. At least that is what I did to take up some of the "slack" or excess lenght in the cable. Should be instructions included with the cable or check Lokar's website for how to shorten accelerator cable....

Looks very good so far. I am building almost the same setup for mine.

Good luck, keep up the updates...

Re: 69 cst-10

for the lower rad hose, i got a shorter alternator belt and moved it in. plenty of clearence now. The engine has not had a timing light on yet and it starts up first shot and idles. Idle is a bit high but not bad.

Re: 69 cst-10

I got a few gauges installed, still waiting on some dash stuff but got to test the circuits with a 6amp charger and a ground light. Then i hooked up the battery and ran a half gallon thru the system. just did not have any pressure showing on the gauge but it was pushing a lot of fuel through. Hope to fire it up in the next few days.

I've got that same base chest, only in black. Really nice unit. Mine's overflowing with crap and the guides don't show the slightest sign of wear.

Re: 69 cst-10

got the majority of the fuel system run today as well as some pieces made up to smooth the firewall. Have a 40 micron prefilter before the pump, i wil have a 10 micron filter pre carb... I used an 1/8in x 3in flat stock bolted to the pump and used some left over carb gasket between it and the frame so it should quiet down any viberations. the pump is about 3/4 in below the tank.
