Re: '68 c10 build
The cab will go into primer one more time, get sanded with 400 (wet) and then we will start putting on color. It will be getting seam-sealed this afternoon.

Re: '68 c10 build
Today we finished cleaning and smoothing off the underside of the cab. It will be getting sprayed with undercoating this afternoon.
I also picked a color and bought paint today. I was shocked at the price! Spent over a grand in material and will probably end up needing more clear. |

Re: '68 c10 build
We went with the factory light blue like this. Planning to do the top and grille white. Still considering doing below the trim in white as well.
Thoughts? Oh, and the price of paint is nuts! $578 a gallon for the blue. A non-metallic blue....... |

Re: '68 c10 build
I like the color (almost, but not quite, Taos Blue), but $578 a gallon is crazy!

Re: '68 c10 build
Awesome color choice! My new cab is original Light Blue so I'm going to try to match it the best I can with the rest of the sheet panels. What are you planning on doing in the interior? I'm undecided on doing either a black or an all blue interior.

Re: '68 c10 build
This is my favorite c10 color combo for sure. I'm undecided on the interior but may do a black/white houndstooth or a saddle. I have a 67 Camaro with a factory blue/white deluxe interior. It looks good but the blues match.

Re: '68 c10 build
We got the underside of the cab coated yesterday and are waiting for it to dry. Today, I drilled holes in the dash for the ac vents. We are planning to run just the outside vents for a cleaner look. Drilling these holes stressed me out for some reason.

Re: '68 c10 build
Here are some pics of the inside of the cab. Super exciting to start seeing color. We finished wet sanding the roof, door jambs, and A and B pillars this morning. The drip rail will get seam-sealed this afternoon and we will spray the white on Monday.

Re: '68 c10 build
I got the tank installed today, as well as the pump and regulator/filter. For the pump, I went with a Walbro (GL392) kit from Speedway. I have this pump on my personal c10 and have been very pleased.
